Once again thanks for the great ideas! The five weirs walk sounds like my cup of tea and I'll include the Full Monty scene as she's recently seen the film! The hamper idea is one I had a while ago, I sent her: The Full Monty on DVD, Arctic Monkeys first album, a bottle of 'endo's and a can of D&B (she's never heard of it!). I've also got a tea towel with Sheffield phrases on it, bought it from 'the famous sheffield shop' on eccy road which I LOVE and may pass on to her.

Thank you for all the ideas, much appreciated. I definitely think we'll have walk around the city center including Kelham Island, the Winter & Peace gardens and the botanical gardens. Has anyone eaten at The Milestone? Fright Night is a great shout! I'll try to see that if there's time before her flight. She's easy going and lives on a farm so is very outdoorsy. She's also Irish so obviously we'll be out for a drink! If the weather's nice I might have a mooch around Bakewell too. I'll give her the option of shopping although I refuse to spend the weekend trudging behind with all the bags!

Evenin' I'm having a friend come over from Ireland this coming weekend and she's never been to England, let alone Sheffield. I want to show off our 'best bits' and cram as much 'Sheffieldy' / northern stuff in as I can! Obviously she will be stuffing her face with Yorkshire puds and lots of 'endo's, but I wondered if anyone on here had any ideas? What are your favourite things about sheffield? Ta!
