  1. It was just the motorway maintenance guys doing a survey. I got a good view of them as i sat in the traffic!
  2. Rob, im familiar with that bad boy on the parkway. I've seen it flash numerous times once a speeding car has past it (when im driving the other way). Its usually out after dark making it pretty easy to see!
  3. Some key cutting places offer a transponder key copying service. They cut a blank key which has a chip inside, then copy the stuff from your existing key to the new one. I dont know if it works with Nissans, but has to be worth a try!
  4. What you on? I challenge anyone here to be able to judge your speed within the 3 - 4 mph grace that a speed camera would allow. Perhaps Robocop could achieve such a feat, but frankly i would rather give the majority of my attention to looking out for children running into the road than trying to drive at exactly the speed limit. Being rude does not help get your point across.......
  5. Heres the thing; I dont condone speeding.... I know it can lead to accidents etc and if you get caught by a fixed camera or a bobby with a radar gun, so be it. What i do object to is having to drive around with my eyes glued to the speedometer in case i get landed with a fine that i cant afford to pay, or the loss of my licence Yes, they may encourage people to drive within the speed limits but who here thinks that spending all day with your eyes away from the road is a good idea? Whos ultimately going to pay for these to be installed and the disruption that it will cause? No doubt it will get added to our council tax - and what about replacements? How long can they be expected to last with 40 tonne lorries driving over them
  6. If they do that, i think i'll be keeping a hammer in the car. If i see any, i guess it'll be 'hammer time'!
  7. Diesel anyday, cheaper to run regardless of local / motorway usage and if its a 'Y' plate onwards (2001) you'll most likely pay less car tax too
  8. I endured a similar situation when i moved into my new build. BT could not connect up the phone as they promised due to a problem with one of their contractors. This ended up dragging on for a month even though it was down to connecting up two wires separated by 2 feet! All calls were diverted through to my mobile (free), plus when i did eventually get connected they creditted my account with £30 to cover the cost of mobile phone calls. I hope they do the same for you, perhaps you should ask about it.
  9. Rach, what colour is the fluid thats already in there? If its brown or black, then the box is almost certainly knackered. It should be clean and normally green / yellow. Normally if the level is low, you'll find that it will go into gear, but not straight away.
  10. This what they said about the Tricorn centre in Portsmouth, perhaps the ugliest building in the world, but in the end someone had to make the decision to tear it down and replace it with something more exciting. The Park hill flats are the first thing that any visitors are likely to see when coming into the city and unfortunately first impressions usually last. Surely it has to be cheaper to rebuild anyway?
  11. Cant say what they're like as i dont live there, but aint they an eyesore. Why not tear down and replace with something that looks nicer!
  12. Take a look at http://www.uswitch.com, it'll tell you what you need to know
  13. ELR will do it at 1% (after haggling). You could try 2roost (on the internet), they only charge a flat fee (about £300 if i remember right)
  14. I agree with Classsic Rock, merely cancel the direct debit. I had a membership at a similar gym, but as circumstances do change i was unable to go after a month of membership. I cancelled the direct debit. After a while they sent me some threatening letters which i threw in the bin. After a couple of months of this they got bored chasing me and i havnt heard from them since.
  15. I had the same problem, turned out the aerial on the roof was no good. Had to buy new one, never cheap.
  16. Its your house and it has to suit how you want to use it. Id remove the features and stick them in the loft. When i came to sell, if the buyer made a big song and dance about having the original features, they would then have the option to reinstate them.
  17. My program has been on for 3 minutes and already theres been an advert. Am i the only one who this really annoys!
  18. Once got done on my moped (Yamaha FS1E a long time ago!) for speeding in a 30 limit!! Come on, they're not supposed to go over 30 in the first place! I got the same fine a couple of years later from a (nice) policeman who caught me doing +++mph in a 30 limit. Not very consistent.....
  19. I dont have a cat myself, but usually a couple of times a week i pass a neighbours cat on the way to the bus stop. Its always sat in the same place with a dead mouse at its feet, looking quite proud of itself. It must of had at least 20 mice since i've lived here, plus its pure white so can hardly rely on being camouflaged!
  20. You could use the windows internet connection sharing wizard. As long as both machines have a ethernet connection all you'll need is a crossover cable. Only downside is that the host computer needs to be on to use the internet on the other machine.
  21. Southboune, Tuckton and Christchurch all V nice. Boscombe gets a bit grotty but that still isnt bad. Depends which side of Bournemouth you want to go. These are all to the east, whereas Poole, Parkstone etc are to the west. Id cut off my right arm to move back down there!
  22. Make sure that you get a 100,000 BTU boiler otherwise they just aint powerfull enough to satisfy the needs of a family. I've found that pretty much any modern make is fine (the Worcester bosch being the Rolls Royce of boilers, just twice the price)
  23. Rally, Foxy, Parcher - do you have a telephone number for these?
  24. Yep, Gatso uses radar to measure your speed once you pass the camera. Believe me, you'll know it if you get flashed (twice). Id say its pretty unlikely that you'll get a ticket landing on your door mat
