  2. Nothing built on Cyclops St , I lived on Cyclops St in the same yard as the Allens and remember Norma very well 😎
  3. I had Mr Baggot for Sport and technical drawing , He used to hit you with a big white slipper that he called Mr White. Good teacher though. Jim.

  6. Hi Bothemlad , i remember the Sanderson Trophy matches , didnt we win with a goal from Dave Green as i remember the headline GREEN FOR DANGER.
  7. A night at the Jigsaw disco at the Marquis of Granby , then up to the station with your mates to catch the early morning train back to the Midland station . Great times.
  8. I can remember Mighty Melvin at the penguin, we used to ride over on the bikes from the Magnet and sit on the floor to watch the GoGo dances , sometimes it was Melvin and we would cheer him on , great laugh.
  9. I had my Tonsils out in the Royal on my 13th Birthday , i was in there a week , not like today . And Bothamlad i remember you breaking your leg . Jim.

I went to Grimesthorpe junior , i remember having a teacher called Mr Platts who was From South Africa , he used to read to us before we went home , also Mr Eyre .Then Owler lane that later became Earl Marshall and had teachers, Miss Shillito , Mrs Greenfield , Mr Flemming and others , We had a French teacher i think she was called Mrs Clarke , i remember sshe wore big bloomers I left in 71 i think
  11. Hi , Is there anyone out there who remembers when pupils from Earl Marshall school went on a trip To Austria , we went by coach and i remember sleeping on it. I think we joined up with Tapton school.We had a few days skiingwhich was pretty different to how we used to go down hills in the snow.Think the place was called Iggles or something like that. Anyway we all got drunk on the local brew , one or two fell in love , but remember we had a good time . Must have been around 1969 /70. Jim.

  15. Yes ,we always called Horseshoe "Afferties" i dont know why but remember going to weddings etc in the hut at the back. Jim.
  16. Hi , i would like some names from the reunion pics , i must know some of them, as i was born in Grimesthorpe in 1955 and lived there till our house was demolished in about 1973 , and having gone to Grimesthorpe and Owler Lane / Earl Marshall schools. Jim.

Anyway bact to the Botham St picture , I can always remember running up Botham St in one of the Jonny Butler sports day races. Good days . Does anyone else remember it ?
  19. I used to live just above the Hooker and can remember playing by the Brickyard gates . As i remember there used to be a small doorway cut in the gates and can remember going thru it and seeing large blocks , but then i would only be small. Jim.
  20. Oh No , Dowson , thats a name from the past, many i time i was sent up those stairs to see him which usually ended up with the stick . Mr Hall was the headmaster when i first went to Owler Lane and it changed to Mr Bullivant when it became Earl Marshall. Jim.
  21. Pancho Pearson , Thats a name from the past . I remember him well from school . Their house had a big window like it had been a shop. Jim.
  22. Yes , had some great times at the boys club over the years , getting away with murder with Plum but always pulled up by Trevor. Being Rollocked by Jack North. All the trips we had at the Lake District , Some place in Wales , and the camping trips to Stoke Ford near Hathersage plus many other trips out in the old van Lucy. One of the things about attending Plums funeral the other month was seeing one or two of the old lads and telling a few stories .Good days. Jim.
