First Post, Wednesday Fan since 1955, went through the amazing period in the early 60"s when very few teams could play the Owls and expect anything out of it.Nowadays I think the standard of football in all leagues is very poor.Especially the Premiership.I personally think all these Italiens,Spaniards and Frenchies are ruining the greatest game in the world.When they start that back passing and side passing on the halfway line,I have no choice I just switch over to the knitting channel.When teams do it I just pray for a bad pass that gives the other team a breakaway,it happens quite often thankfully.The only way for fans to change things is to let the clubs know we dont like the style they are playing.I think teams Like Swansea and Norwich are very watchable because they play attacking entertaining football.Anybody remember Peter Swann? Still my favourite player of all time.

I used to deliver the paper at Johnny Fanthoms parents grocery store in Grennull (Greenhill) in the late 50's. Luckily one day, just as I was putting the paper through letterbox he opened the door.Along with Peter Swann he had to be my favourite Wednesday player ever.I am certain that the Owls team of that era would wipe the floor with any of the so called great Prem teams nowadays.None of that back passing on the halfway line for the teams of that time.Watch a few games from just 10 years ago to see how much better it used to be.Too many French and Italian managers in the Prem,they are ruining our game.
