    Freedom of religion - no

No. Prayers are one of the pillars of Islam and are done daily- by practicing Muslims. Ramadan is a pillar of Islam that means fasting for 30 days from dawn to dusk- additional optional prayers are recommended but the main 5 x a day prayers are standard- this never changes.

Brightburn 7.5/10 A take on Superman- baby crash lands on earth, gets adopted by infertile couple, grows up on farm- and learns that he is not like mankind.. but that is where the similarities with the Man of Steel end. Then it takes a hard left turn and the movie is really on its own- sinister!

    Antisemitism

Exactly. There are Jews who are anti-Zionists. Who oppose the apartheid state of Israel.

And the Next Football boss to be sacked is ..

Dan Ashworth is the new technical director at Brighton so expect big changes- which has begun with Chis being fired. Dan has a solid CV and under his guidance the England team ( from youth to senior squad) have improved massively. Brighton pulled off a coup of getting him- his calibre is very high.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48251716 Poor old Chris Hughton gone at Brighton- did look on thin ice and although I like Chris (ex Spurs man) I think the squad needs more than one system to play.

Avengers Endgame 7/10 A lot of film crammed in this 3hr epic. Has had very positive reviews- kind of brings the Avengers story to its conclusion. It's all about time travel and what could have been- you kind of can predict somethings.

I watched this a few days ago- it's a good film (7.5/10). Think it probably ran a bit out of ideas and does leave unanswered questions as you stated. Agree the ending twist was an alert!

Yes they do but perhaps the high st versions just do not attract- as per the reasons given.

    LGBT issues and morality

I Why do some of these sporting people, who are more in the public eye than the average man- go on social media to give their opinions or views. It does no good either way and I am sure long term just will make their life more harder. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-union/news-comment/israel-folau-homphobic-comments-anti-gay-instagram-hell-awaits-you-australia-rugby-player-a8862961.html

    Debenhams goes into Administration

Not surprised- could see it coming. High streets no longer have the pull and people tend to go to retail parks- mainly to make it a day out as well as pick up some goodies. Parking is free, plenty of places to eat and meet friends etc remains an attraction. Whereas the high street/town areas are congested, parking fees, same pattern of stores and mostly offering nothing new.

The Mule 8/10 Clint Eastwood still going strong at 88 years old- here he plays real life Leo Sharpe (who was in his 80s) who became a drug mule for a Mexican cartel. With a good support cast it makes this movie worth watching.

Why has religion retained its appeal?

Again, may be in some areas and with some certain groups, but I'm intrigued. Do you have any particular examples?
  21. I don't know and I doubt CPS do as groups are not categorized by faith. Ok. A lot of these men are Pakistani or from similar backgrounds- but if we don't want to tarnish Asians then the same applies to the usage of Muslim. Lets call them Pakistani because by adding 'Muslims' it groups a world wide religion- many who abide by laws and are sickened by the acts of these vile men.
  22. The same could be asked "do all catholics rape little boys" or do all football coaches groom boys" and the answer is also a NO. You also need to look at the gangs convicted so far and there seems to be some correlation- when it comes to the industry they work in. I think it is less about culture or religion than opportunity and circumstance. These small towns, Asians control the night-time economy – working in takeaways or driving minicabs. Just as church schools or football clubs provided opportunities for certain types of men to commit sexual offences. These groups form their gangs from here, working in this night time environment- they have full access to what they crave, taking full advantage. Finally, CPS data still shows the percentage of groups committing grooming/sexual exploitation/ paedophilia activity- are white. But no one hears about their religion- one thing the media loves to point out when it comes to brown coloured culprits.. it is always Pakistani 'Muslims'- which just fuels the fire.

Why has religion retained its appeal?

Perhaps so in some cases- but surely you're not suggesting that logic/ reason is somehow a monopoly held by atheism.

Why has religion retained its appeal?

And? It's a site with a view of someone. No study or anything- just an opinion. It doesn't take away the fact that religious beliefs are on the rise. China by 2030 is projected to be more Christian than the US. This is an atheist state.. Leaving aside numbers etc the very fact people question existence and have a wanting to ' know' is in my view, evidence that we are pre wired to search God or look into the spiritual side. Atheism and by extension Naturalism offers no answer to why we have this wanting and need from an evolutionary perspective.

Why has religion retained its appeal?

No all entirely- you have China today showing how people are turning to religion, what is effectively an atheist state. Similarly in Russia - once state sponsored atheism, you now have religion on the rise. Research by Dr Justin Barratt from Oxford, along with other researchers- showed that belief in god/ devine may well be innate. You can find more on this via a simple Google search.
