Hi I just phoned Chris, He gave up the fishing rights around ten years ago, Could you edit your comment so that he doesn't get bothered again please? It's once again free to fish 👍

A bit late but I emailed the council a couple of days ago to see who they sold the fishing rights to, If it's like last time I won't get an answer for a few weeks 😑

Hi Dragging up an old thread but wasn't there several ponds at Rivelin many years ago? I recall fishing a pond straight opposite an outdoor toilet but when I went up a few years ago it seemed all the ponds had been filled in! 🤔 You couldn't walk round that pond as the road went over the river there so had to turn back and retrace steps! There's a group of folk that like to swim ponds and lakes- Even when it's cold enough to affect a monkeys wotsit!! 😬 Biggsy 👍

Hi Runningman I went to have a look around on thursday, There didn't seem to be anything jumping, I couldn't see any fish either as the water was really coloured! Does anyone know whether a bailiff comes round to take the money please? A friend told me that it's very shallow and needs dredging, Does anyone know the depth? I've not been fishing in years, I need to get a licence and find the rest of my tackle out!!😊 Cheers, Biggsy 👍

Crikey! I had a phone appointment with my Asthma nurse at 11.30am friday and mentioned that I coughed a bit of (Dried) blood up, before the day was out I was at Northern general hospital having blood taken, ECG, Chest Xray and then because something in my blood was elevated (Dunno what it was though!), I ended up having a CT Scan! I got to the hospital for 5.30pm, Didn't walk out until 2.30am the next day! Nine hours!😳 Hope the OP gets seen to soon and is given a clean bill of health 👍 Biggsy 🖐️

Hi all I've been doing Bonsai since 1999 after boredom set i after an accident that put me off work for a few months- It was a daft choice for boredom as nothing happens for weeks!! 🤭 Anyhow, I joined the South Yorkshire Bonsai Society and learned quite a bit and even started collecting wild trees (Always with permission).. Today I have more trees than space and need to get on with making some benches as many are on the ground!! Here's a few, They're not top quality but I like them (Acers are my favourite followed by Juniper!) Biggsy 🙂

I think if you go down to the big Tesco on Abbeydale road, To the right of the actual Tesco store is a small wall/fence, I looked over there a few years ago and there was a small waterfall and a nice pool that it dropped in to, There were kids with nets catching tiddlers!! I'd love to have been able to cast a fly over it!! Dunno about further up though 🤔 Biggsy 🙂

It's never been open for fishing as far as I know, Only the centre pond, The nature reserve is also out of bounds 👍 Biggsy 🙂

Hi Dean Sorry, I can't help much but I do know that you need a licence to catch them legally 👍 THIS may help a little, Good luck, Hope you get a load of the signal Crayfish as they're decimating the smaller native ones, More meat on them too!! It's free to fish (Only the middle pond) as is the Arbourthorne pond, Crookes Valley pond, Frecheville pond and Hillsborough 👍 Biggsy 🙂

Hi Basset I'm afraid it's been around thirty years since I fished the pond but back then you couldn't fish the nature reserve with the fence around or the boating lake so it left just the one pond, I've not been near the ponds since so I can't be of much help.. I also used to fish the Crabtree pond at Barnsley road, Another of the free fishing ponds, I emailed Robert Millar of Wild Sheffield to ask if fishing was still allowed, I received this reply.. "Thank you for your enquiry regarding fishing at Crabtree Ponds. There is a long history of the pond being fished but it seems to be used less frequently now than it has in the past. As a conservation organisation we would prefer that the pond was not fished and left to its own devices for the benefit of wildlife. To my knowledge the Sheffield Wildlife Trust does not hold any fishing rights for the site, and are unaware of anyone else holding them either so we are unable to give you permission to fish there. If you decide to fish down there, we ask that you respect the environment and wildlife that exists there and that you take all of your litter & fishing line etc with you. In my experience this is usually the case, and it is only the minority that can sometimes give the fishing community a bad name. I can't actually recall where I got his email address from, Maybe he's something to do with the EA, It was ten years ago and i've forgotten! I do recall that when I fished the Graves park pond it was only around 28-30" deep so 25 years of dropping leaves may have left it even more shallow, I don't know if they actively mainatin the ponds by dredging but I wouldn't think it to be high on their list of priorities!! Hi I 'won' This Panasonic Lumix DMX TZ60 on fleabay last year for around £90, It has a 30x zoom and image stabilisation, I'm not very technically minded and this camera has more functions and gadgets than I know how to use but it seems to take half decent pics for me (On auto!! 😊 ) CAMERA A few pics i've taken with it (Bearing in mind i'm no David Bailey!!) I get the SMS Message recordings to the landline two or three times daily 😠 We actually stopped answering the landline for months as there were so many scammers, One that was persistent was that they were going to turn the internet off, What gets me is that they try time after time after time, Surely, If you don't fall for it the first time then you're hardly going to go for it after multiple times over months and not being turned off!!🤨 Biggsy 👍

Had both of mine done at Barlbrough, The staff were great!, Had my first (Left one) done in 2015, It's giving me gip already though and feels like it's worn some, May be due to a heavy job I had, Had my right one done and within a week of returning to work my left foot went in to hole and I fell fully on to my new (2019) right knee, Had some bad pains with it for months after but it's settled down now, I finished work late last year so less stress to them!, Both were only half joints though I can't squat any more though or kneel down as they hurt like crazy then!! It's possible but from the imdb site, It was set in 1970's and in the other thread it was in the City centre and in normal attire, The cast at the Forgemasters office block were all dressed as Goths! Cheers, Biggsy 👍
