  1. I was in the train station a few months ago waiting for my girlfriend to arrive from London and a bloke asked me for some money as he needed to get to Doncaster, I told him I'd got no change. About five minutes later he asked me again but changed his destination to Barnsley, I gave him the same answer. Once she arrived and we were on our way out he asked me again, this time he wanted to get to Leeds, my reply of 'are you on tour or something?' wasn't well received.
  2. Eurochange in Meadowhall, order and buy online then collect in store, search for a discount code and that will give you a better rate, they do enhanced rates for buying certain amounts too. I've found they've always been a better rate than Post Office, M&S and travel agents You'll get a better rate on Tenerife than here and I've never had to pay any extra charges. We always takes some Euros and Pounds with us and change the Pounds if we start to run out of money.
  3. Amongst other things it could have been an Iridium flare, sunlight reflecting off the solar panels of an Iridium satellite, appears out of nowhere and steadily gets brighter as it moves across the sky then fades away, a single bright white light. Websites and apps are available that tell you when and where these will appear. Or, Aircraft landing lights as they line up directly with the viewer, front of my house faces East (I'm in Woodhouse) and I can see aircraft landing and taking off from Doncaster airport, they appear as a single white light until they either turn out of alignment or get high enough to turn landing lights off.
  4. As above plus, the further in advance you buy the cheaper it will be, I often get singles to London for £9, the return single starts at about £13, also don't use trainline.com, go to Eastmidlands Trains website.
  5. I've got one in my car, 2003 Nissan Primera, it's in the centre console next to the handbrake lever. It's under a plastic cup holder moulding, I know some models have a phone cradle here so maybe something to do with that. ---------- Post added 16-05-2015 at 20:52 ---------- After a bit of Googling I've found out it is the antenna connection for a mobile phone kit.
  6. It's been like it well over a week, it caught me out last Thursday, ended up having to turn left then turn around at Harthill Developments and go back to the roundabout to turn left to go to Woodhouse.
  7. There's still a few cats around River Don Works, especially in the ladle bricking shop.
  8. What about all the women and children the terrorists have murdered? They weren't murdered accidentally, more like targeted.
  9. That's what I've got, just the dark glass out of a mask, worked fine last time. Tried it covering my camera lens today so I'll be able to take photos this time.
  10. I've got a welding mask glass, worked perfectly last time.
  11. Soooo.... Amey gets it right and there was a frost & potential for icy conditions. Well done!
  12. I saw plentry of gritters about during the last spell of snow and icy weather.
  13. It's far too overrated, and the more people go on about it on the various Facebook groups I follow the more embarrassing it becomes.
  14. Phone the and tell them your not happy with the renewal. I did this with the AA, they reduced the yearly premium and allowed me to pay monthly.
  15. There's been several accidents at this junction, it's much better now the shrubs have gone, better visibility and less litter caught in the shrubs. It might be traffic light controlled but some people jump lights, always better to have good visibility at a junction so you can make sure those on a red light have actually stopped.
  16. Asda Tyres, book online and fitted at a place of your choice. I had mine fitted at Halfords Autocentre Drakehouse.
  17. We have stayed at Forest Holidays Sherwood Pines, nice location and cabins are really good.
  18. Handsworth Asda? I've just come up Handsworth Road, easily passable but didn't see any 52's.
  19. They were out last night, my route to work was gritted, Woodhouse to Brightside, only bit that wasn't was at Waverley to Morrisons.
  20. I had a look last night with binoculars, it was very clear but couldn't see anything. The star map I found showed its track for the next few days, if you find Orion's Belt its to the righ of that and up a bit.
  21. I got on a 123 at Crystal Peaks yesterday which was comfortably warm.
  22. About 2 hours ago I was walking round Woodhouse and a man asked me if I'd seen a dog, black and white border collie. If you read this it's been found and I have a number for the person that's found it, the dog is safe and warm. ---------- Post added 27-12-2014 at 15:22 ---------- Now found please close.
  23. 72% for me. Quote: If splitting the bill based on 'who's had what', have you/would you ever deliberately put in less than you should, knowing everyone will have to split the extra? Answering yes to the above is just wrong.
