  1. Have been wondering why I have not been able to find the new car boot thread..keep finding surfinjims old thread..but just discovered its under carboot (all 1 word!) is this why its only 3 pages long, have others not been able to find new one or is it just me!
  2. Yes just what I was thinking... It was £5 before 12.30 last time I went to twin oaks still ridiculous amount to pay, and 50% of stalls are dealers and market type traders, but if you wait until 12.30 just tat left and does not justify the petrol money getting over there. At this time of year there are plenty of boots to choose from, thats why I give this one a miss now.
  3. Did anyone go to Marsh Lane today? I phoned the mobile at 6am and it just clicked onto answerphone, didnt ring, so presumed it was off, (taking if it rings its on if it goes to answerphone boot sale off) but i may have got it all wrong! Went to Lady Manners and Bakewell but both dissapointing....mostly same old stuff that was there last time and Bakewell is just a collection of jam sellers, antique dealers and market traders! Need to find a proper boot sale! Any suggestions please?!
  4. Saturdays would be a great idea! Seems to be too many to choose from of a Sunday when the boot seasons in full swing, but few regular Saturday boots. Only one I have been to is the one at Twin Oaks that seems to be run by Dick Turpin and friends! To get anything decent you have to pay £5 to get in before 12.30. Only done it the once and it was stallholders and staff on site that were running round snapping up the bargains, the rest of the masses were herded behind barriers charged £1 by which time its mostly rubbish left. So big "yes please!" to Loxley and even bigger "yes please!" to Saturdays.
  5. Hmmmm, very confusing post then! It looks to me from 1st post as if it was 1st at davys then changed to cricket inn rd, ( if it just says venue changed you tend to look at later details not earlier ones!)
  6. Did this event actually take place? Information was very vague with only a postcode, no venue details, I drove up and down cricket inn road for over 1/2 hr, and no signs of anything happening anywhere on that road, no cars, no people, and no signs giving any indication that this event was taking place, stopped in several pub car parks along the way, all empty, shame as a few signs posted would have been helpful. Wonder how many more gave up the ghost and went home?
