  1. Went as soon as it opened and never went back. It costs more and I don't mind that but you'd actually expect more (in quality, that is) to justify it, however it was a 'nul point' for me, didn't think it was anything special. Nice try at a good idea, but not quite hit the button IMO.
  2. Nope, they're ruined something the once pioneered. I have an old MoS Late Night Sessions mix CD by Farley & Heller and it's ****** amazing, I still love it, but they can shove their "This is Electro Mash-up Funky House vol XXII the return" up their very rich ar$es thank you very much.
  3. Yep, they were proper dudes doing little synchronised spins like The Drifters or something! The little bass player being helped on and off the stage too, bless him! And Barbarito Torres doing a Jimi Hendrix on the laud - class! I wanna go again!
  4. Loved it! F*ckin great night, especially the shortest, oldest horn section on earth! Me gusta! I'll remember that forever.
  5. Thing is I can't believe how the mother is more than happy to be in the papers and on telly with this little tw@s face all over the place! I know I would be mortally embarrassed if that was my kid! The shame of it! It says a lot that she thinks that's ok and is fine with him smoking. If that fat teenager was potentially going to be removed from his family then why isn't this one? His mother is slowly killing him too! And now he's been diagnosed of course she's over the moon because it absolves her of all blame for his upbringing and the tablets mean she's no longer responsible for turning him round, it would be the wrong prescription if it all goes t!ts up again.
  6. here here Nick, shame though as it was the only decent bit of the whole affair, I hate the place otherwise yet was happy to sing the praises of the restaurant.
  7. Agreed there, hate the clothes in Limeys. I don't know what it is about certain Division St vendors tho, they do look at you to check out how cool or otherwise you are (as if they're an authority on such matters ), I hate all that clique-iness too: Fact is you operate a till in a shop, which may as well be in Spar for all I care, so don't come all high and mighty with me! Hope B2B is relocating though as I've had some nice stuff from there but I keep forgetting it still exists when tucked all the way up there in West One.
  8. Yeah I was on the tram when they announced at Manor Top that it would be running no further than G/Townend. Were kindly told to 'get a bus or summat' and ended up walking to Birley Moor Rd to get another tram (they ran from Halfway to there and back again). Police were all over the place but could see no reason for trams not turning left there and on to Halfway, that part of the road wasn't affected
  9. This is ridiculous. It's not police brutality and I wouldn't be suprised if half the people who think so had already made their minds up. Then of course, despite the fact that the woman in question and her solicitors have never raised the issue, all the 'rent-a-quotes' come out the woodwork alleging it was race motivated (in an effort to get their organisation in the press no doubt). My view is that she's been a lairy idiot who could have avoided all of this by not being one. Funny we were talking about this at work and one of my colleagues told me about a mate of hers who's about 7 stone, had a fight with another girl and it took 3 blokes to pull her off once she had her opponent pinned to the floor. The blokes afterwards were also bleeding as she'd been resisting them, biting, scratching etc. She reckons any of these fellas could have easily picked her up and chucked her across a room under normal cirumstances but the combination of pure rage, alcohol and adreniline made her an entirely different beast.
  10. POlice tape round the outside of Banus this morning too when I came to work. It's all going off - We're all DOOOOOMED!
  11. Hmmmm, the Harvey Nichols brand doesn't exactly lend itself to out-of-town shopping hellholes does it, I can't see that happening. I think the fact is that anyone wanting something nice/individual shops elsewhere. As soon as something hits the store windows in Division St every imaginationless knob head with 3 haircuts starts sporting it and you get a glut of identikit lads & lasses going out in their fashion-boy/shop-girl clobber. Keep HN out of Sheffield for me, it would help maintain it's image as an exlcusive store that way. Besides, it makes for a better day out to Manc/Leeds if you want to go clothes shopping.
  12. I saw JZ @ UG ages ago when it was at .Zero, can't remember who he was on after but totally lost the attention of our little band of dancers, wasn't down with his fiddly little loops, just didn't seem to work. I'm all for creativity and forward-thinking but I think he lost the essence of what we were all there for. That said there would have been a lot of people there for exactly that, to train-spot, so no doubt they enjoyed it.
  13. Between Halam Uni and HUBS, near The Globe pub. Used to be the One-Eleven Jazz Club
  14. I don't understand this at all - surely if there's something wrong with you you should see a doctor, not see if any strangers on the internet can advise you? I'm sorry if that sounds harsh or ars-ey but if I have a malady of some sort Sheffield Forum would not be my first port of call to remedy it!
  15. True, and how many times have there been ace acts on for nobody to turn up? No wonder only the massive venues take the risk, the apathy in Sheffield's clubbing scene doesn't make it worthwhile for the smaller guys.
