its about time we employed a private security firm to make the city center safer ,or scc start to use the 000s of cctv cameras properly and catch theses criminals promptly, rather than waste 000s of hours of police time trying to investigate what happened after the event. the security firm should get paid on results no more hit and runs, no muggings, no knife crime.

Very impressed with the pavement work they are doing on clay wheels lane.pity no one uses it. There is a trench on worrall rd that has been barriered off now for six weeks, waiting for the tarmacers to fill it in, it's been so long they must have lost the job on the computer. the amount of barriers amey use must be getting on for a hundred thousand now.they have a special gang going round picking them up after the wind blows it down. Amey you are the laughing stock of the country.

with the climate changing and more snow storms predicted annually, does any one think there is a demand for a snow blowing service in sheffield,household paths,commercial premises? i have seen theses machines in action and they can remove large amounts of snow pretty quickly.Do you think people will pay for this service or will people still use the tried and tested backbreaking shovelling method. all views welcome.

I think it was time Amey s management team were called to account by who ever gave them the contract. There is absolutely no management ,the workers stand around discussing this and that during the week, so they can start work at 6am on a Sunday morning. Private contractors are resurfacing the roads,that's why they are getting resurfaced quickly. Footpaths and lighting are down to amey due to mismagement nothing being fitted,thousands of barriers being left all over sheffield. Traffic lights out of sync. The problem is street farce just changed there name to amey. Like others have said the management of Hallam university should be seconded to take charge of getting this project finished within budget on time with a minimum of inconvience to sheffield residents

These barriers are becoming dangerous now especially on penistone rd, amey need to invest in some flashing orange lights to warn drivers as the street lighting is appauling

I bet you could leave your car do the trolley dash and still get back to the car before the lights turn green. The whole of penistone rd is a shambles amey should deploy all their workmen on one section at a time,not bob from one job to another.
