  1. I wasn't a gas man, I was a saleswoman working on behalf of the energy suppliers. We worrked until 2000, knock on about 150 doors a day of which 30 whilst people are having/making/serving tea, often when I was signing these people up they would offer some with them. Everyone I signed up would offer a brew. In summer people would deffo offer you a beer and a sausage if they were having a bbq. And some older people wouldn't let me leave until they had made me some kind of packing up like a piece of fruit and a kit kat or something. And I only worked there about 4 month and experienced all that kindness. Nice people are out there. 1 woman tried to get me on a date with her son and another woman told me if I ever went in the shop she worked in she would give me staff discount, which she has. I was as pleasantly shocked as what you probably would be. It was a nice thing to learn
  2. I just posted that on the old one not realising how old it was lol
  3. Ok ill stick my oar in too I used to work knocking doors, I know I know people don't like strangers knocking on their doors selling gas and electric but having to work 10 till 2000 in one area you kind of get the feel of a place. Now in the higher demographic areas iv had doors slammed, been sworn at and basically about 1 in 10 ppl would be friendly about telling me to sod off. When I got Manor, Batemoor, Arbourthorne and Darnall iv never had such friendly people answer the door. Iv had Cups of tea in most houses, warmed infront of their fire, dinner with them, beers and even the odd joint offered but the latter 2 I declined graciously haha! But yeah I know ppl don't like been disturbed I hate it myself but thats what I found. Nailed on everytime, lower demagraphic, far more friendlier! I never ran into trouble and I was out until late at night in the dark!

  5. Thats just what I was told from the tv licence themselves, they said there are a couple of 'myths' as to what the money is for but it's actually for the reason I said. I don't know the breakdown of where that money goes so don't know whether the bbc do get some but yeah they said it was for watching something as it's been aired
  6. Well I used to love them and I was really excited for bonfire night but as someone said before when it came to taking a new born and a toddler under 2 to bed, I was not so much of a fan I had a few last night but only the ones that chuck sparkles on the floor lol
  7. Its a myth about paying your tv licience to the bbc for having no adverts. You pay it for the privilege of been able to watch a programme as it's been aired regardless of chanel. You would also have to pay tv licience even if you didn't have a tv but watched on your phone or laptop as it is been aired. However, if you watch programmes on say bbc I player, 4od or 5 on demand, you wouldn't need a licience as it is not a live broadcasting, this does not work for recording something on sky though as it 'was' live at the time of recording. I only know this as I had a massive to do with them last week. So it would be a bit like saying 'im not buying a drivers licience because I don't like the steering wheel in a vauxhall
  8. Thank you for your reply! Booo! Think I will have to sort the desktop out then
  9. Hi! Right im having a bit of a problem here with gaming on my laptop and wondering if anyone can help out pretty please. Ok so, I have and ACER Aspire 5742Z Intel Pentium P6200 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4GB DDR3 Memory Think that should be all the spec you need if not ask Ok, I play Aion and Guildwars1 fine, no problems what so ever. I purchased Guildwars 2 and had to put it immediately on the lowest graphics setting and it was still a tiny bit slower but definitely playable UNTIL there is a group event and I have numerous players and NPCs around me in a big scrap then I dont even know whats going on the lag is so bad. Im guessing this is my graphics card? So my question is....... Can I buy a new one and put it in, or use an external one (read about them but have no knowledge about the working of computers ) Sorry this was long and i really appreciate any advice! :)
