  1. Agree, like lose change down the loo v loose change in my pocket Also, when you say back in the 1990 period, it is the 90s or 90's
  2. Here is a good one that have always got wrong when used in certain contexts: Counsellor v Councillor Their v There v They're When something belongs to some it is Theirs but saying a name it would be Bedrock's Also, when do you or don't you use an apostrophe ' I know when belong to people it can be used and to break two word into one like wasn't But I have seen people online use it after a word like Students' Union instead of Student's Union meaning belonging Is it used before the last letter or after, one of life's conundrums
  3. You are correct, it is impossible to find bunting in Sheffield
  4. I will be there to welcome it, party poppers at the ready, fireworks and lots of bunting
  5. I could easily do it under £5 million, all it takes is a little creativity and lateral thinking... Plastic explosives, lots of skips, rafts of volunteers, trips to B & Q and a few dodgy deals!
  6. I bet they find some dead bodies as well, Castle Market was dodgy as !!!
  7. Are personal profiles ever really required on a CV / resume? Can't these paragraphs be used solely on the covering letters? And can't you just go straight into your work history without putting profiles? I only ask this as what ever I put it sounds wrong and everyone is picky and has differing views on them.
  8. I have taken numerous shots lately using Aperture Priority mode and found mixed results. I always try to use the lowest possible ISO 100 in my case but found when taking photos indoors or shaded areas this causes blurry images so ISO 200 tends to get the best clarity indoors. I have found that when using Auto ISO that when outdoors at night around lights, it opts for ISO 400, at a distance it goes up to ISO 800, so will 400 / 800 be fine for all night photography? Also, is there any reasons that Auto ISO can be used as the only option like quick shots indoors / outdoors various lighting conditions?
  9. My dad used to live on Park Hill Flats around the 70's onwards and joined the sea cadets.
  10. All I know in Sheffield is the Territorial Army on Manor Top. But what about Hillsborough Barracks, was that ever one? I know we used to have many but now not so sure any more. This can be for any type of special forces, navy, air, cadets...
  11. I wonder what May and Hammond think of all this ???
  12. He could be referring to hill slopes
  13. Japanese scientists have managed to achieve an electrical current of 100,000 amperes – by far the highest to be generated in the world – with cutting edge technology of stacking special tapes. The National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS), of the National Institutes of Natural Sciences (NINS), in Japan created an avant-garde conductor containing yttrium-based high-temperature superconducting tapes. Designed in collaboration with Tohoku University, the low-resistance joint technology involved in the conductor joints development only added to its mechanical strength. The results obtained are overwhelming: the electrical current exceeds 100,000 amperes at the absolute temperature of minus 253 degrees Celsius (487 degrees Fahrenheit). Just to compare, the electric current intensity of a domestic power receptacle reaches only up to 25 amperes. http://rt.com/news/175968-japan-highest-electrical-current/ Yikes, imagine the bill this would produce, you would need a lottery win to pay it off
  14. Thanks for the glowing review !!!
  15. What are the views on this bridge camera? Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 http://www.panasonic.com/uk/consumer/cameras-camcorders/lumix-digital-cameras---point-and-shoot/bridge-cameras/dmc-fz200eb.html I have heard solid reviews all over the web and some prefer this to a DSLR. I am looking for a worthy upgrade to my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ25 but the DMC-FZ200 is rather pricey. ---------- Post added 26-07-2014 at 11:46 ---------- Apparently, it is one of Graham Houghton's main cameras... https://www.youtube.com/user/ghough12
  16. Which is best between the 60 and 40 in terms of pure picture quality?
  17. The videos are something I did so was not a part of any course but chose the college as I have been there last few months so wanted to film the nice grounds as the weather was so nice. I do not plan to do many as said that want them to be a natural thing and do not plan to send them to Hollywood but going on Hollywood's recent remakes / reboots / Michael Bay tosh then my little videos are light years ahead.
  18. Looks like there will be a new store opening soon next to Thorntons. Let's hope one of the two Greggs in there will now take a massive hit
  19. I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ25 but the video is only 1080i / mono sound I would like to upgrade to the better DMC-TZ40/60 with 1080p / stereo sound I agree about the portrait / landscape shooting and have no software to edit things. Do not know anything about editing videos and have enjoyed all my courses so far. Done 3 so far and will be back in September to do some more so cannot wait till then
  20. Thought I would set a dedicated thread for anyone who does or is thinking of doing video logs. Here are a collection of video logs, my first ever ones actually taken over various courses at Northern College. I figured it would be a spontaneous thing I could do every now and then, something different when I have the time. Warning, contains many ramblings !!! 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbABZRVp-e4 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZSGyFk1rxc 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC77MOlhZKo
  21. No get the bus, it is like a yoyo in places.
