  1. I wont buy Heinz now the cost of a tin of beans in Tesco is £1.70, Aldi beans are 49p and are just as good Aldi tomato soup is also spot on and only 59p whereas Heinz is again £1.70
  2. I thought she was his foster mother and he had only been with her a few days (or weeks) I cant remember I may be wrong and have got the wrong information
  3. Been up here yesterday to see if they had started the work (it being the 30th) No work started and the signs have gone altogether !
  4. We went up last night and they have changed the date on the lamposts to the 30th now . Saw the electricity works got traffic lights there
  5. There was a sign on the lamposts stating that they were starting work on Whiteley Wood Road and Common Lane (about time) on the 23rd Don't know if it has actually started yet, so hopefully it will extend down on to Hangingwarer
  6. Our doctors now have an online form to fill in which I find is a breach of confidentiality. For a start you have to explain what your problem is, surely this should be between your doctor and yourself, not for anybody else to know. If you are unable (for some reason) to not manage the form, the receptionist will help you, therefore knowing what your problem is. I find this unacceptable
  7. I too have tried numerous times to get through to the council tax department at SCC (I haven't had my £150 rebate yet) with no luck If I owed them £150 they would soon be in touch tho' I wonder how many people actually man the phones at this department
  8. Even if the Libdems do win it will be a case of "meet the new Boss same as the old Boss"
  9. Is the Argos at Meadowhall still open?
  10. Thank you so much for that Very interesting
  11. Sorry I can't find it. Usually when you start a thread it comes up with similar threads, ?
  12. Just wondering if anyone knows the history of Ash House on Ash House Lane Dore. it is beautiful house, but it used to be a care home so has had some unsightly additions to it. I cant find out what or who it was built for as I'm sure it wasn't built as a care home It sits in quite a lot of land so I presume it was built for some steel magnate or some such person. I can't find anything on Sheffield Libraries. I am just being nosy as I think there are a lot of beautiful houses in Sheffield.
  13. That is really interesting. Is it the house with the scaffolding up at the moment. I never realised it was once a church, I knew it had been a school. Thank you for that.
  14. Hi Thank you for your reply I haven't had any luck moving forward.. I did wonder if Nethergate Hall was perhaps a small building and called a hall in those days. I downloaded a PDF file on a thesis by Julia Elizabeth Hatfield, but i am still none the wiser. There is a very old house on Nethergate with mullioned windows and an old roof, I did wonder if that could be it.
  15. Definitely have it done, I have had both knees done and and it really is life changing. I go out walking every night about 10,000 steps every day. As someone said before, not as flexible as before but not pain. Another tip is take turmeric capsules every day I personally find it reduces the pain of arthritis, which I have in other places. The op itself is ok bit painful for about a couple of weeks afterwards, but do your physio and you should be ok. Good luck
  16. Well if they don't know why it collapsed they should at least be investigating, I go past most days and haven't seen anyone around it or looking at it just shut the road and leave it !!
  17. So if the road has collapsed why hasn't it been mended. I think eight weeks to repair a collapsed road is totally unacceptable.
  18. My husband and I have both had ours, Astra Zeneca both had no side effects at all My friend had Pfizer and she had no side effects
  19. I have had flu twice, and my thoughts are at first you feel like you are dying, then after a couple of weeks you wish you were !
  20. I am not saying the council should have bought the land I was being facetious, but our local councillor seems to have enough time to interfere
  21. If this is true why did the council allow the land to be sold to a private developer, They should have stepped in and informed the legal team of the prospective buyers of this and bought the land themselves for "community garden" If it was a legal binding amendment then it should have shown up an any searches that were done.
  22. This has never been a community garden It has always been private land. The fact that people wanted to plant flowers on it doesn't make it theirs and that was their choice even tho they knew it was private land. I have lived at that end of Crookes for over 40 years and I have never seen anyone use it, apart from it being a dog toilet. If people want green space the Bole Hills are two minutes away. I'm sure playing on there and having picnics if far better than on some land that has buses and cars passing with fumes all day and night.
  23. Try I post They are based at Templeborough Rotherham I have used them a few times and haven't had any problems
  24. I was told it is the lights from Sheffield Wednesday ground Apparently they leave them on to heat the pitch
  25. There are some on the side of Carracks as well Made to look like windows and doors I personally think they are very clever.
