  4. FYI Supposing you want the person at the other end to collect cash... Western Union money transfers can be performed at a number of outlets - go to http://www.westernunion.com/info/homePage.asp?country=GB then 'Find an agent' - fill in the City and Country fields and then click on 'Find a location near you' on the bottom right. You'll get a huge list of places and if you click on the name it'll show you further details including phone numbers and opening times. FAQ is here : http://www.westernunion.com/info/faqMT.asp?country=GB Regards Rudi

  6. Here u go .... according to http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/DisplayAnswers.go?question_id=37640&category_id=12&index=13 "its a phrase used by Alex Lester on his Radio 2 show between 3.00 and 6.00 AM , believe it is about slapping someones head"
  7. My house has no double glazing and only 2 nite storage heaters - been mighty cold the past couple of winters ! Visited http://www.house.co.uk [british gas site] a few weeks back, and they had a sale on cavity wall and loft insulation. British Gas contacted a company called Millfold and sent a bloke out for a free inspection for both. Turned out I had cavity wall insulation already and just needed a top up of my loft insulation [old house so only had 4 rather than the modern 10 inches of insulation, and in places there was no insulation ! The pipes were not lagged and neither was the water tank. No insulation on loft hatch either !!!] Had the insulation installed a couple of weeks back and house getting warmer already. The 2 guys took about an hour to do the job. Seems to be less drafts [they draughproofed the hatchway as well as insulation the back of it] and warmer now. Cost me 250 quid as I got less of a grant as there was some insulation already - if there were none or I removed it before they inspected it they would have charged just 120 quid... And in a couple of weeks I'll be getting 6 free low energy light bulbs from them ) FYI - British Gas have the offer again until 9th Jan - see the house website for details [improve your home > energy efficiency] Hoping you have a warmer new year ! Rudi

  11. Found some stuff that may be of interest 2 u on the BBC site http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire/culture/venues/a_f/birley_spa.shtml which has a photo and further details... "Restored in 2001/2, the building offers a community bath hall and a genuine Victorian bathouse. The building dates back to 1842, when it was built for Earl Manvers, Lord of the Manor of Beighton. It was first built as a hotel with spa baths beneath and has also been used for private dwellings. It became a Grade II listed building in the 1960s. The community hall seats up to 60 people and can be booked for private functions. Guided tours of the bathouse are available to the public, and to schools and other interest groups."
  12. Indeed. His messenger is actually called Bill Gates. This guy uses MSN messenger version 6.1 to spread his word
  13. Thanx for the reply Tuna ! Will go have a look into the classes and joining the library today. Yes, your chrimbo dinner comments did have sommat to do with it.... I got the ready meal as I have no idea in the kitchen and live alone. Could have posioned myself !!! Also, someone from work said that a meal I concocted and told her about sounded so disgusting that I should go learn how to cook, so I thought okey dokey maybe I better do sommat about it. It's one of many new years resolutions, and hopefully one that I will get sorted. Be nice to have sommat other than ready meals [can do fish + chips, sizzle and stir and that's about it] and eat some fresh veg once in a while [none since I became single]. Cheers Tuna !

  15. The past 3 months I haven't got more than around 5 hours sleep a night and haven't been dreaming.... this week whilst off work I have been sleeping longer and had some VERY weird dreams - all in colour. Quite glad to wake up after them. Thankfully I've got work again next week so I'll go back to normal sleeping and no dreams at night - just during the day when I should be working )

  19. Not somewhere I'd like to go on holiday..... The wretched King Minos has decided your fate. His tale wraps around his body 6 times. The sweet light no longer strikes against your eyes. Your shade has been banished to... the Sixth Level of Hell - The City of Dis! Sixth Level of Hell - The City of Dis -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You approach Satan's wretched city where you behold a wide plain surrounded by iron walls. Before you are fields full of distress and torment terrible. Burning tombs are littered about the landscape. Inside these flaming sepulchers suffer the heretics, failing to believe in God and the afterlife, who make themselves audible by doleful sighs. You will join the wicked that lie here, and will be offered no respite. The three infernal Furies stained with blood, with limbs of women and hair of serpents, dwell in this circle of Hell.
  20. The RAF have a great web page dedicated to low flying : http://www.mod.uk/issues/lowflying/contents.htm they can fly as low as 100 feet in a few places that they have, but tend to go above 250 normally. Some aircraft go as low as 50 feet ! Wouldnt want to be a sheep ) There is a low flying video here [bottom right of the 4 videos] : http://www.raf.mod.uk/downloads/videos.html ================= "The UK Low Flying System (UKLFS) The UKLFS is designed to allow the efficient and effective management of military low flying while ensuring that the activity is spread as widely as practicable. It covers the whole of the open airspace of the UK and surrounding oversea areas as far as the boundary of the UK Flight Information Region, from surface to 2,000 ft above ground or sea level. Military fixed-wing aircraft (except Bulldogs and Fireflies) are defined as low flying when operating within the UKLFS at less than 2,000 ft minimum separation distance (msd). In the case of helicopters, Bulldogs and Fireflies, they are defined as low flying when operating at less than 500 ft msd. 250 ft is the normal lower limit for low flying by fixed-wing aircraft, although a very small amount of operational low flying training for fast jet and Hercules transport aircraft is permitted during the day at heights between 250 ft and 100 ft. Bulldog and Firefly aircraft may be authorised to fly down to 50 ft msd while helicopters can be permitted to fly as low as ground level. "
