  1. Hey Real Nappies, I continue to consult small enterprises on a regular basis for their PR, social media and traditional marketing campaigns. First of all, congratulations on being a small business owner, I sure hope that you are excited and motivated to succeed while enjoying the process with all the thrills and chills. Here's my 2 cents: For a small business owner, your first priority is to survive in that area between your income and the costs of operation. Once you are grown to the considerable size so that you can afford the services of a PR agency, you can save some time and hopefully obtain a few successful (and prolly costly) campaigns. Until that day, however, you should initiate your growth via strenghts of your own. In reality, people in any PR agency are people like you, who have invested their time to study their field. In the current days, you are actually in luck, because by learning a few tricks of the trade, there's ways to save a bit of money and approach the segment of your interest quite creatively on your own. Do make use of this beautiful sea called the Internet and search for marketing folks offering free guidance, all of this is quite interesting, and will give you a basis to negotiate, when you [once again] can afford to a powerful PR company. While developing your own micro social media strategies, do not underestimate the power of the traditional marketing. Even though people do spend more time online, they are walking the streets, and socializing more in the traditional surroundings, still. If you choose to primarily operate in a particular area of a town, you should invest the money you thought you need for a PR Agency (a portion of that actually) and build a decent printed campaign. Several printers online like print24 deliver designs by morning, so even if there's a Fair happening on a short notice, you can get some business cards to hand out, maybe a few presentational folders that you can use as part of a pitch to an inverstor, a potential client or a partner? These marketing items will be your investment, not an expense. The agencies would listen to your expectations, identify the market, and offer the online/traditional marketing packages to you. Once you'd pick the products (created like discussed above), they would do these tasks for you, while increasing your costs. My advice is that you should really give it a go yourself first because you might be surprised. Keep us updated
  2. Uff, this has got to be a rather unpleasant situation for you - I am very sorry to hear that you are in a position to deal with a psychotic person (by no means I am being judgemental, but who else calls cops and does not press charges?) Indeed you have to cut out any possible contact with that person, because any sort of communication (even to "clear things up for ourselves") can be a very dangerous case that can turn messy and costly. Given it is of your interest to remain careful, I would suggest indeed getting a brief discussion with a solicitor, some of them do offer free consultation of some issues, and it is definitely advisable to take all possible measures to not be back in such risky circumstances. I am glad to see you able to type about it, but you have to definitely let go of any anger or thoughts and move on. Do that and have a good weekend!
  3. Hello Birds, There will be always a demand for art, even when the term "locally" dissappears completely. These days, when you have the markets so closer due to the online experience, you should consider sharing and selling your art more less anywhere. A lot of it depends on the presentation and positioning of your work. You have a wide choice for the promotion of your art. Printing catalogues and giving these out can be an expensive option, where as printing postcards that contain your images on the back of it and sending those with your contact info to a selection of galleries can be far more affordable and memorable to the receiver. In addition to the traditional printed marketing options, you could build up your online exposure by photographing your paintings and developing a nice website almost instantly and at no charge as long as you know the basics of the computer/internet use. Unless you intend to sell only locally, some of the choices you have will be a better match, however I strongly advice you realise the potential of reach due to today's technology and communication that is available to make things go viral!
  4. Hibernating period will depend on the type of tortoise you have. Also, if it is residing in the condition which differ from their natural habitat, you can expect some modification in behavior, as several of the replies show evidence of that as a possibility. Make sure to create a recommended environment for the keeping of the tortoise, but observe the actions of your pet with calm understanding that as long as it continues to behave actively during the warm months, you keep it clean and provide an option of staying in a close-to-natural (actually even better controlled) environment, your pet should be alright.
  5. Hi SmartOffice, There is a variety of online services available for a quick and professional tutoring assistance. Would you want me to PM you the details?
  6. The Tree of Life I was very intriguied having read all the reviews mainly divided between haters and worshippers of that film. Brad Pitt seems to be carefully selecting roles of greater depth in the last couple of years, Sean Penn is known for his attitude towards a choice, and this movie seemed having those and additional details involved closely. I give it a 9/10, so as to leave another point to motivate seeking constant improvement, otherwise this movie is a journey through realities of life, with captivating details that take you away from the daily tasks.
