  1. Sheffield City Council Trading Standards investigates door step crime and provides support to victims the majority of whom are elderly and vulnerable. Please report incidents of this type to us at trading.standards@sheffield.gov.uk or on 0114 2736290. If anyone from Greenhill or the surrounding area has been cold called or had a leaflet put through their door today, please contact us. Similarly, if you or someone you know has agreed to have work done and now has concerns please get in touch.

Do you know someone who: Receives a lot of junk mail about prize draws, competition or lotteries and responds by sending cash or cheques to claim their 'prize'? Is pestered by nuisance calls? Buys a lot of mail order goods like vitamins or other medication?   10. Hi, Don't worry. If you do decide to report this to us, we will initially just send an informal letter advising her that her alarm may be causing a problem to neighbouring properties and ask that she puts it right. Most of the time, this informal method works. We would only look to take any enforcement action if the problem was causing you a nuisance after she has received the letter and only if you wanted to pursue it by reporting it to us again.
