I stand corrected, but they arent actual 'police' from a moaning about the police point of view -
Useless Police re attempted bike thefts

Its the 999 operator that they are moaning about. They never spoke to SYP. -

Do you think 999 is an emergency number? Do you think people acting suspiciously is an emergency? In some situations maybe but by the sounds of it the 'thieves' didnt even touch the bike, or even get out of their van. -
Nope. Representations are still being accepted. There was a good one the other day hitting back at Crossthwaite Commercials's (in my opinion somewhat dubious) supporting statement about the marketing of the pub. I think they are treading on thin ice with regards their professional obligations as members of RICS

999 is the emergency number. I see no emergency in some blokes in a van acting dodgy. You could have been taking up the line whilst a real emergency needed dealing with. 999 are not there to record details relating to potential criminal offences- can you imagine how many extra operators would be needed? You did a good deed in getting photo's / registration etc, all of which could have been passed to police if the crime was committed. -
I didn't say it was in the city. Plenty of places in London / other cities have dress codes. Many employers have dress codes. Maybe it is out dated but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing or serves no purpose. Anyway, we digress. The menu looks delish!

Thanks for the review/tip. Its on my list! Quality Chinese places are few and far between in this city I imagine thats to deter local hoodlums stopping by after 15 pints around the pubs in Bawtry, and the extensive traveller community in the area (head down!) who are well known for becoming confused and forgetful after a slap up meal and forgetting to pay the bill

Need One Internal Door Hanging?
lil-minx92 replied to lil-minx92's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Off the bottom mainly. Its a door from a door way that I filled in, that I want to replace the cellar door with, as the cellar door is not as nice, and has a disused cat flap cut out of it. It weighs a ton- think its an original door in Victorian house. Not obvious to me, and why I need a pro! -

Need One Internal Door Hanging?
lil-minx92 replied to lil-minx92's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Sawing chunks off- well, a couple of inches. There used to be a door shop on Infirmary Road and they had a guy that would come out and hang a door, fit handles etc for £50 -
Sand and cement is easier/cheaper which is why builders recommend it. It wont last as long as lime mortar- cracking and falling out especially if not done properly. I would listen to expert's advice rather than builders advice.

Council rents in Sheffield - why do they differ
lil-minx92 replied to Retro Queen's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
This highlights the daftness of the right to buy scheme. Council owns flat worth £50k. Sell it to tenant for £25k. Buy it back a few years later at £50k. Spend 10k doing it up. All that public money going into a private individuals pocket. And you have to pay a higher rent to help cover the loss. -
Presumably that would stop those pesky mushrooms, but not much else!

What a scummy man...and of course he blamed it on his 'issues'. Just to add, you dont post comments on WhatsApp. Its a direct messaging app.

Thanks WIllman. I assume the quality was reasonable as you havent mentioned otherwise? I'm looking at some furniture that will come flat packed and wondering if its IKEA level quality, or hopefully, a bit better..

Wayfair seems to sell just about everything and just happens to sell some furniture in a style I've been looking for for ages. BUT you cant feel the quality before you order as they dont have a shop. Has anybody any experience of products from them. My head tells me to stay away...the website looks like the place of fake reviews and 'personalised' pricing. thanks
