Well tbh not bothered either way. There was a lot of bad feeling years ago and when we went through court for residency and then taking her out of the country. But things have been settled for a while.

Thanks Bagger - she is 17 but a 24 hour flight on your own isn't ideal and the mum does have other issues with her elder kids (drugs) so not a good environment to be around in - therefore thought it would be better for her mum to come to us and we can make sure daughter is in safe place and not getting sucked into something bad. Hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the bum too

Well I paid for the bloody flight - so not brilliant - lol but it was better than letting st daughter fly back on her own. I wanted to give her a special present this year. I gave her the gift of seeing her mum. being a mum myself and my daughter is living away with her dad - then I thought 'what would I want for christmas' and came up with the idea! Don't know how things will actaully pan out though - so will be taking each day as it arrives. Hubby is ok with her coming - I think we are all putting on a brave face for daughter's sake

No - she hasn't stayed with us before - I think the longest time we spent together was in a pub in skeggy for 3 hours.

Good advice - I usually let OH do the kitchen stuff anyhow

Step - daughter just left to go to the airport and collect her mum, who is coming to visit for Christmas. She will be staying with me, hubby and step-daughter for the next 3 weeks. Should/could prove interesting. Any advice?
