Just to let you all know that bil was declared unfit for employment. Unfortunately he had a fall. He was going up the ramp and turned arournd to see where I was parking, he stumbled and fell backwards. Hes ok and carried on for the assesment after someone had helped him up. He has a neuro prob and they told him that they unnderstand his condition will get worse. Thank you all for your help hes very grateful. The only complaint he had was, the waiting room was very warm! . -

The getting washed and dressed and getting to the assesment etc, cant be part of a physical examination because how can the assesor know if that person can or cannot dress themselves? -

Getting to an ATOS Assesment Interview
day-break replied to day-break's topic in Disability & Carers Group
Do atos gather any information prior to the assesment from consultants etc? Do they do an actual physical examination? sorry to be asking so many questions guys but, im just trying to gather as much info as possible from people who have actually been through the atos assesment. Regarding the ramp/walkway to the building, does it have non slip floor and handrails by any chance? -
Getting to an ATOS Assesment Interview
day-break replied to day-break's topic in Disability & Carers Group
When you say he will be watched, do you mean on camera or someone will come out to him? This seems all so wrong because basically youre saying the entrance is designed to put him under scrutiny before he even gets there? Is there a physical examination too? What does that involve? Is it a fair assessment and examination? -
Getting to an ATOS Assesment Interview
day-break replied to day-break's topic in Disability & Carers Group
So I cant drop him off at the door? Tberes a maze of walkways he has to negotiate to get there? He will be being watched how he copes? Once he gets into the building, does he have to use steps, lift? How far will he have to walk to get to actually get to where hes to be examined? If its true theyre watching him, I hope theyre prepared to rush out to him when he falls. I obviously will have to find somewhere to park... -
My brother in law has an assessment with ATOS next week He struggles to walk so ill be taking him. If he can physically get to the assesment, will they say hes fit to get to work? ---------- Post added 13-02-2014 at 23:02 ---------- Anyone?????????
