  1. It was a smei-hypothetical question, someone brought a similar thing up in another thread about how it's funny people would tip one person and not the other. For example: Tip the takeaway delivery guy, but you don't tip the postman or TNT/Citylink/Parcelforce man - they all deliver stuff to your door? You'd tip the taxi man, but not a bus/train/tram driver. How about: You'd tip the takeaway delivery guy, but you wouldn't tip the guy that made the meal - even if you were at the same take-away you usually order a delivery from.
  2. To be fair you're only there a few hours, most people can usually survive without food for that length of time. Buy food if you want it, no-one is forcing you. It's a pity the gate price doesn't reflect the quality of football being played, I bet Wednesday would be at capacity every week if thats how the prices were done :-D
  3. Yea but if you commute in rush hour into/thru Sheffield you will be waiting a LONG TIME. Also the city has fairly good 3G coverage for your phone or tablet.
  4. or it could be something on the radiators, every time they heat up it lifts off into the air and you get a rection. Lets be honest the behind of most radiators only get looked at once a decade so there can be anything back there.
  5. How come only the food guy gets a tip, what about the poor person for Asda home shopping who has to lug your weekly shop in from the van, does he deserve a tip too?
  6. I expect a repeat of what happened to destinyblu's friend. This guy seems to have had first hand experience
  7. Sounds like the sort of person the police should know about, before he starts shooting anything else.
  8. I think it's quite funny, look how much space there is in her fridge now for other stuff. "Whats for dinner dear??" "Cheese, on Cheese with a cheese sauce.....................again"
  9. I just can't see the point in tipping the pizza delivery boy, he's on minimum wage - so what, it's not the most taxing job in the world. I don't tip the girl at starbucks, or the fella at subway or the person in B&Q who helped me find the door handle I was after. Do you guys tip all of them too, because I'm fairly sure they're all on the same wage.
  10. Cut the lock, doesn't that make enough noise to wake someone up?
  11. I'd happily ditch my car if the tram went even remotely near my house or place of work. But it doesn't, and they're not doing anything about extending it.
  12. Tip at restaurants (10-15%) but I don't see the need to tip the pizza delivery guy or a taxi driver. This isn't America.
  13. Apple store in Meadowhall? I don't think there's a shortage of them.
  14. The same happened a few years ago near my parents, the locals kept it underwraps for a full week before some moron blabbed it out on my brothers radio show. He apologised for not cutting the bloke off sooner, but did call him a ******* (off-air) for letting the cat out of the bag http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1216105/Every-little-helps-Lucky-drivers-queues-petrol-pump-giving-half-price-fuel--WEEK.html
  15. I took a black cab from Sheffield station with my brother. We asked to be taken to Ecclesall Road. Taxi drivers response "where is that? Please direct" You're trying to tell me he was fully licenced?
  16. I'd say it's a very small minority that do that, I know of only one time I've taken such a taxi in like 7 years.
  17. The contracts for the fields has been sold off already and the moneys been spent, there's nothing there for Scotland to take. They'd only really be able to get anything that comes from new exploration, which isn't happening.
  18. Large corporations paying less tax than the average worker.
  19. That does sound good actually, the Australians have a very good system where online you can see the exact breakdown of the fuel cost.
  20. The no's are clearly going to win this one, do the Scottish really want Salmond as their first Prime minister/president?? What happens when the Scots all vote no, will the Scottish National Party disband because basically no-one wants an independent Scotland?
  21. or even a permanent resident there, in fact what business does a retired ex-union head have in London?? It sounds like he just wants them to fund his 'place in the city' so he can make the odd trip there when he pleases.
  22. Heroin is semi-legal, it's a restricted Class A drug that is available through prescription for treatment of a number of severe problems. It is one of the strongest painkillers known to man.
  23. Where did you get that BS from? The IMEI is blocked at the network end, they maintain a large cross-network database of IMEI's to block and don't allow phones on the list to login to the network. They do nothing to the phone, if they did people would be able to reflash or jailbreak the phone and undo the block. Taking the phone out of the country and bringing it back does sweet FA.
  24. It's harder for a landlord to reclaim deposit money (because they abused the hell out of it) to pay for damages pets do now so they're less inclined to allow them in. of course if you get one anyway it's not exactly simple to evict someone these days, so as long as you're paying rent they probably won't bother.
  25. I'm surprised they're not paying people to live in them. You can't polish a turd.
