  1. 21st August is the Fat Cat's 33rd Birthday and they'll be celebrating all weekend long from Thursday to Sunday!   2. Here's the line up for The Fat Cat stage, this year. Starting this evening with the Everly Pregnant Brothers at 7pm and tomorrow we have Sheffield's Lucy Spraggen on stage at 3pm followed by Steel City Rhythm at 5pm. Friday 21st March, Barry Starmore will guide you through a tutored whisky and chocolate tasting showcasing the unique flavours of the specially selected whiskies, complimented by the exquisite artisan chocolates created by Cocoa Wonderland of Ecclesall Road. Barry Starmore, a former Savoy Group sommelier, will be talking us through 6 amazing Ports and Nicky from Porter Brook Deli will be pairing each Port with a different Cheese. It will be a unique fine dining experience with top quality food combined with a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The setting for this event is The Loft Bar, Prospect House, Alma Street, a 200 year old building straddling the culvert which once powered the water wheel for the ironworks at Kelham Island. Nicky Harris, known to many as, the former proprietor/chef of Kumquat Mae on Abbeydale Road, has put together an outstanding 'Grande Mezze' menu which can be viewed online at http://www.kelhambrewery.co.uk There will be one sitting and there are only 25 places available.   18. You need to get yourself down to Kelham Island Brewery for our massive Open Day. There will be a Beer Festival, BBQ and a band on in the Fat Cat. We’ll be running brewery tours all day long free for anyone that buys a pint in our Loft Bar! There’ll be beer tasting, a sale on in our shop with Mini Kegs at just £15 instead of the usual £19 along with offers on T-Shirts (£10), selected hoodies (£10) and fleeces. So put the date in your diaries to come along and join us for a great fun day out.

  22. Good Point, we'll have to try and include everyone who wants to be involved. Space really limited this year. Nine breweries each bringing 3 nines fills the tent (marquee?). If it goes well we should be able to make it a bit bigger next year.

  24. As part of ‘Sheffield Food Festival’ nine local breweries are working together to create a ‘Showcase for Sheffield Beer’. The Craft Beer Marquee will be at the Sheffield Peace Gardens next Friday to Sunday (14th to 16th Sept) from 11am til 8pm on the Friday & Saturday and from 11am til 4pm on the Sunday. There will be nine hand pulls in operation, one for each brewery, plus a selection of beers straight from the cask. A guaranteed minimum of 9 brand new beers & a selection of well known classics. There will also be the oppurtunity to meet and chat with the brewers. More info is available in the link below in my signature.
  25. I went last night and would definitely recommend it. There is a disco at the end too and the bar stays open quite late. All that's missing is some good real ale
