  1. I'm only talking about the badly behaved children and selfish parents that don't control them, that is all.
  2. Oh very clever.... Ok, you have actually made me smirk now and thus chilled me out a bit... so ta:P.
  3. Me and my (female) partner have no interest in having kids. Our lifestyle choice is in NO WAY selfish or any less valid than anyone else's. I am contiunually disgusted by the selfish way parents inflict their spawn on the rest of the population in public places. If you're a proud parent then great - but a truly happy person does not feel the need to insult people who's harmless lifestyle choices in no way effect them.
  4. You're not suggesting that people who choose not to have children are selfish are you? My partner and myself are not particularly materialistic, certainly not interested in the posessions you refer to. However children are not part of our plan. There are equally valid lifestyle choices besides the nuclear family. If couples are not planning to fill our public spaces with screaming kids then that makes for a better environment in my book! Ok, obviously I can't tell people that they shouldn't have kids - but doing so is in no way selfless or morally superior.
  5. Totally with the latter recommendation as for the former... least said about that the better, if you ask me!
  6. I like the place. People knock chains but at least you can actually buy what is listed on the menu as opposed to the old "sorry love, that's off" treatment. I actually love their breakfasts - especially Eggs Benedict and the pancakes with bacon and syrup!
  7. I've seen him lurking about in a Sheff pub in the past... twice in fact... Wouldn't hold my breath to see him in there now though!
  8. Probably, because it was an old sandstone house. We didn't pay anyhow, our landlord did. ---------- Post added 02-12-2012 at 12:36 ---------- I suppose the best thing is to dry them in the bathroom, would you agree? We couldn't though because our place's bathroom didn't have windows, some don't. The original bathroom had been bifurcated and the big bit turned into a back bedroom and the remaining kept as a petite, windowless bathroom. Anyhow I'll stop now as reading this stuff is probably not how you envisaged spending you Sunday afternoon!
  9. Our landlord would probably have put the rent up for that luxury!
  10. Now you mention it, my health and my partner's health was terrible during our time in the mouldy house, and we're generally never ill!
  11. Often difficult to find an alternative in our less than tropical climate though. This happened to us and it turned out to be an intrinsic fault with the property - is it an old building? Ours was and it needed extensive damp proofing treatment. I would urge you, please don't rush to blame the students!
  12. Make sure none gets in anyone's eye. My friend got some in when we were kids and judging by his reaction it was excruciating!
  13. Kind of still makes sense though. I've been known to drink and drink.
  14. B&Bs in Broomhill are good for colour ones (they'll operate it for you too, at least they did for me a year or two back, in case you're like me and get spun out by all those buttons). Also Carsons on West Street, might just be black & white but probably do colour too. Can't remember how much they cost but I don't remember them being particularly steep.
