  1. The white horse is pleased to announce this fantastic event from 3-7 on sat 11th July......party at the car park.....bbq,drink offers/outside dj. top up your tans while enjoying our great drink offers and listening to great music.....so come along to the white horse on Halifax road this Sat and let's make a night to remember
  2. I can't remember his forum name as I,ve deleted message, I might be able to find contact number tho
  3. do you want to just play films/music on the laptop on your smart tv or do you want to have everything shown as a extended stream?
  4. I had numerous problems with Netflix on 3 of our Samsung smart TV's....check for updates on the Samsung website and install via usb manual method resolved it (yes I know the TV's automatically update but sometimes my tvs says there upto date but when I,ve checked on Samsung support site its a few revisions behind). This resolved it every time on my TV's which are all only 6 months old!!! my misses has complained to Samsung about it numerous times and we received a complementary set of 3d glasses and a letter of apology (but no explanation!!!)
  5. I have a linx 10 tablet paid 179 with keyboard from Argos and got a £20 voucher (think offer for voucher has ended) I would highly recommend these but without the keyboard inc and get a better Bluetooth one, they are fantastic and I regularly take it out with me instead of my surface pro 3. Obviously its nowhere near the same as the surface but I,m less worried about it being damaged. It has great wi-fi strength and run fine tethered to my phone or wi-fi. I have upgraded it to windows 10 technical preview which runs fine but I,m unsure if you will get the free windows 10 upgrade in the future as it runs a compressed version of windows 8.1 with bing that wouldn't upgrade to windows 10 via the standard option. Obviously this may change when windows 10 is rtm. I find windows 10 for better on this device than 8.1 but it still runs fine. Skype is brilliant if you use it via the inbuilt dual cameras, the here mapping apps work really well too. If you want a 7,8 or 10 inch tablet that can run as a full pc I can't fault them in the price range
  6. Looks very d.i.y and basic but at the end of the day it is wat I would expect for the services that you are selling.....if your promoting to public it's fine just a few tweaks if your trying to get company's signed up I,d say you would struggle as it is not professional enough
  7. I can agree with this as my dads doesn't disconnect until you get 6 houses down!! my sky one I,m lucky if I get a connection on front garden...which to be honest I like as it helps prevent wireless hacking
  8. good thinking about extra cable runs think I will have all bedrooms done at same time and upgrade to a 4 lnb.....I have already installed a powered hdmi splitter and cable to the dinning room tv so it will display on both as they are side by side and never really watch different stuff on them as its open plan ---------- Post added 01-02-2015 at 15:47 ---------- had it fitted for the £55...it works a treat, proper wall bracket fitted really good quality cable used, very tidy install, quad lnb fitted and mini dish.....cant see how paying the other quotes of £70,85,100,125,140,145,150,175,190,195 would have got anything better. I even get a 12 month warranty if it needs adjusting
  9. I have bought a new smart tv that has freesat hd as well as freeview hd so thought I would have it connected up as you get a few more channels
  10. yes that's what I,ve done...I know it's a easy job as I fitted my dads a while ago but don't have ladders at mine
  11. the dish is at ground hight, the wall construction is timber/insulation/plasterboard, just a single lnb, 8m cable run ,internal holes already drilled and maxi trunking installed...cable bung on outside needed for water penetration and standard type f connectors needed is the information I have supplied to all people who quoted. £55-£195 is a very inconsistent quote. I understand different equipment is available but there is no way there is that much difference in the cost of supplying and labour charges should be in the same range. I estimate it to take 25-30mins max to drill hole, mount bracket and dish and set dish position to astra 2e sat and check signal strength as channel list is pre installed on box ---------- Post added 29-01-2015 at 15:52 ---------- ^^^^^^^^^^^^
  12. I have recently been looking to have a sky mini-dish supplied and fitted and am very confused at the wide range of quotes given. I think I have got a very good deal and will update when it is installed on Saturday if the work is good in the hope that people who require the same service don't get ripped off. I,ve been quoted between £55-£195.....what have you been quoted???
  13. shocking!! think people often forget us djs have bills to pay and though we can charge £25+ per hr we don't work 40-50 hrs a week at that rate, so when you have gone out of your way to help a charity and end up been out of pocket its shameful on them. I have not done a charity event myself but when you here things like this going off it puts you off doing so......
  14. Yes it will only output 2.0, what is the capacity of the hdd? Some devices struggle if over 500gb or it may be that it is formatted in a structure that is not recognized.
  15. Hdmi is out of question as the Panasonic blueray receiver doesn't have hdmi inputs like most Samsung ones do which is a shame as Samsung plasma/lcd/led tv's support a audio return channel via hdmi which would have worked. The next best connection available is optical which all tvs optical connections are outputs. The problem will be that it will suffer from sync problems as he is using externally connected devices via hdmi....that why I recommended connecting it as I described ---------- Post added 24-11-2014 at 22:37 ---------- The Samsung plasma he has only supports dd2.0 via optical out the sky box supports 5.1 as that will be the primary source that's why it's better using the optical input on the blueray receiver to connect to the sky instead of tv (it will also eliminate sync problems) and for watching films via usb stick he just plugs it into blueray receiver instead of tv (allowing pass through and again eliminating sync issues) the only problem is the chromecast which would only play through the tv speakers
