A passenger on a train pulled the emergency stop cord on a train because someone got on without a mask, the gaurd was powerless regarding masks, told the person that pulled the cord that it wasnt an emergency, some people are daft. I guess they worry too much because of all the hype.

    Hope they got fined

The driver can do what they do with other issues.

Refuse to move and radio for the police ... who can enforce it.

So stop the bus and radio for the police while other irate passengers who are going to be late for work will start kicking off 🙄

I have been told in conversation that a bus, over the course of a year, costs around £30,000 to operate. That's including tax,  op licence, fuel, personell (drivers, office staff) & maintainence (parts,

When drivers are on between 20-23 grand a year  I think someone being telling you porkies

It’s outrageous if the drivers have been told not to implement the legislation and shocking if their union signed-off on that.  Where are the whistleblowers drawing attention to this?  It’s a standing joke that The Star gets its stories from here.  Have they ran an exposé of this scandal?

Take a look here for stagecoach drivers https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/18525140.cant-make-passengers-wear-masks-buses-says-stagecoach/

The drivers are the ones permitting them on to the bus ! and yes, I would be asking the passenger also.

The driver can’t enforce the ruling so what can he do about it ? What if the other passenger turned violent against you is that the drivers fault for letting him on (remember he can’t enforce it)

I repeat - MANDATORY. Bus companies/drivers look up the meaning.

It does not mean suggested or advised or if you can be bothered or if you feel like it, it means MANDATORY.

If i am on a bus and someone gets on without a mask I will be asking for an explanation from the driver. i can see many arguments ensuing let alone virus being transmitted.

Why not ask the person not wearing the mask ? Why do you think the drivers have to explain to other passengers why someone is not wearing a face covering ?

O.k we are in a bad spell right now and the Buses in Sheffield have really been cut down,so for people who are working,it as been hard to get there on time, like i have to get from Herdings to Ecclesfield, and use the First Buses when running normally, but the earliest bus i can catch is the Stage Coach Number 1 bus,o.k i have to thank them for running buses, but then the Number 1 bus drivers seem to work to a Timer at bus stops and this can be very annoying when your trying to get to work, why?do they do this First thing in the morning then after that never work to the bus times,if they had timers in the day time then drivers would really be in trouble with there bosses at work,Why? do Stage Coach do this is so wrong for the sheffield public

Certain bus stops have timing points so the driver has to wait a cpl of minutes before he can set off again . All well and good early in the morning etc but when people are starting to go to work passengers/ people in cars/traffic etc them Times need to be altered. Don’t blame the driver he only doing his job to try and get people to where they want to go . Route times need to change when busy to reflect this but don’t hold your breath

There are lots of people who are paid weekly, yes even in big companies, they are usually non salaried, paid by the hour, get basic statutory sick pay and only have to give one weeks notice to leave, it may be that the company has given them such a contract, have they said their contracts have changed or anything ?

no change in contracts other than the weekly pay situation and it seems after altering their dd/standing orders etc are happy with it

The significant difference between Clinton and Trump is that Clinton fessed up to an inappropriate use of his power with a junior staff member. Not only has Trump not fessed up, but has openly said that being able to sexually assault women is a benefit of being in a position of power.

For society at large, Trump’s position is much more damaging than Clinton’s.

was that after he said that he hadnt had any sexual connatations with that woman (or words to that effect) :suspect:

As a contractor, I worked at all three BSC plants mentioned here, among others. I actually worked at Tinsley Park briefly as a BSC employee ,in maintenance, around 1970. However I would like to know what SMACC stands for, as I am not getting that bit at all.

But, from the rest of your post, you're happy to send the Afghan translator back home. Of course he came from another country unless he was beamed here and I don't think Afghanistan has that technology yet.

CAAT condemns European Parliament vote to support €13 billion subsidy to arms companies via European Defence Fund

Andrew Smith of Campaign Against Arms Trade said:

"The establishment of the fund sets a very negative precedent and drags the European Union even further down the line of military power and war. European Governments should be cooperating and investing in jobs and research projects that promote sustainable industries and contribute to conflict resolution, not weapons.

Regardless of people’s views on Brexit and the UK’s role in Europe, one thing all sides should agree on is that it should not be using huge sums of public money to subsidise Research and Development for international arms companies and others that profit from war."

    http://www.sgr.org.uk/resources/1000-researchers-and-scientists-call-european-parliament-oppose-european-defence-fund

"The scientists warn of funding for controversial weapons, such as armed drones and killer robots. These so-called disruptive technologies have become a priority in the Defence Fund and are set to receive up to 10 percent of overall funding.

Recently there has been consternation in the European Parliament over the lack of ethical oversight of the fund."

Then agree to change. He had the opportunity to go into an emergency meeting grab hold of the situation. He's had all sorts of possibilities- he's blown them all. What he's managed to do is absolutely nothing.

But yes, if parliament had been doing it's job, why not be in the situation we're in. He's been in parliament for 30 odd years. Sorry jezza, it's not working. It's not us, it's you and your mates. I want 650 new faces. No exceptions.
