In news and media we are reading of more cuts in budgets and more limitations being forced on carers and the people they care for. The cuts that are being made in personal budgets especially around transport and social activities are really frustrating. To make matters worse people are now being told they can't use there bus pass for free travel until 9-30. You have to wonder how long families carers and the people they look after can cope with this and are being pushed to breaking point. I suppose what I'm trying to say what would the price of a carer be if they had to put a value to it. I do understand that all carers give there time support and love without even thinking of a price and they should all be praised for this. But in a society of cuts and making everything fit with in a budget. What do you think the price of a carer would be? Price of 1 carer = priceless

I'm not that impressed with the iPhone to be honest had loads of problems with the iPhone 4. Buttons don't work right and battery life no good after having it for 2 years.

I am due an upgrade on my phone soon. I have the iPhone 4 at the minute what would people recommend for an upgrade. I'm looking at the htc one or Samsung s4 . What do people think?

Yes if Sheffield mencap did your budget I would stay with them. They know your plan and needs as well as how they should be supported best. I have heard very good things about them as well.

Oh no that sounds terrible. I have heard about this and people having to use there own money for transport as well.

If anyone has or is having a budget assessment done on there budget please seek help. Everyone with a budget will be contacted soon to have a reassessment done. The council are looking to make cuts and take things away from budgets. Unfortunately the cuts are going to happen but these cuts can be challenged and done so that you have choice still. Some people doing the assessments have no experiance of any form of disabilities and what effect they have on the person and family. Always seek help out with these assessments.

You could try V.A.S in town they should be able to give you all the information you need. If you need anything else please get in contact.

You can just advertise for your own pa but it's paying them and stuff like that. When you become an employer things change very quickly. It is the best way to go for many reasons though.

Sorry to hear this but with the current government this is only ever going to get worse. When they came into power they stated this was an area that would improve and made several promises. They have failed in every way. They don't see the problem because it doesn't effect them.

I am looking for venues all over the city to run group for adults with learning disabilities. The venue must have disabled access and toilet facilities. If anyone knows of a good venue please let me know. If you know of the cost as well that would be great. Many thanks

Can only speak for myself but I've had it for the past 5 years and never had any problems. Don't seem to get many colds either touch wood. I'm lead to believe there is no truth in that you get flu after it.

I would contact council repairs first and see if they can just do it. If they can't they should point you in right direction. Your doctor should be able to help as well.

They should fit them for you they might have to send an OT to look around first.
