  1. haha thanks marieh ,, sorry about this being late in all but i went fishing there tuesday wednesday and friday because i couldnt believe how shocking the fishing actually wa on the pond :/ .. on all three days i set up fishing on the first peg (with the reeds to your left and then a tree facing you in the middle). the first day i set up with sweetcorn on the hook just off the tree in the middle... not a bite. went there on wednesday and just set up to catch anything with gills.. a single red maggot on a size 20 hook feeding little and often with a few maggots and balls of groundbait about 5 meter's out. caught two tiny roach. the third day i had had enough of the pond i went on the river starting up near the paddling pool working my way down all the way to the fire station. WOW is all i can say. the amount of rainbow trout in that small little river is unbelievable. i just threw a few maggots in with my bait (maggot) and trotted it down using a river float. i caught around 12 fish in a few hours of working my way around pools in the river. so i would say screw the pond and try the river. thanks guys
  2. when i am stating about going for tench on the edge of the reeds it is about the lower rivelin pond.. sorry for any misleading :/ derp :/
  3. thanks for the information and i didnt say there was tench in the dam it was the lower riverlin pond i was on about fr tench wat im going to attempt to catch. and i may try the bay out thanks again
  4. might give dam flask a go ,, isnt there a bus what goes up there? ,, and i think im going to go for a tench on the edge of reeds. i also went to the fishing tackle shop on holme lane and asked there and apparently thereis a 8lb pike what sometimes chases the catch into the edge :/
  5. nothings wrong with them catching a big roach is fantastic dont get me wrong, i just fancy trying to catch summat different and yes i've seen a few jack pike in lower rivelin pond but never tried to catch them. Also the river offers great trout fishing
  6. going there on tuesday anyone else?
  7. i have two questions for you Firstly what type of fish can be caught in the lower rivelin pond? (near fire station) because i can only ever catch perch roach and chub (probably me being rubbish at fishing) and secondly is groundbait allowed there? because i would like to try some out there. any information would be appreciated. Thanks,
