  1. I imagine a year on you are probably already sorted...but if not then this may be of interest: http://www.gumtree.com/p/jobs/animal-care-assistant-required/1025980907
  2. Look up 'Little Sheffield' on Facebook - great page full of ideas for things to do with kids. This weekend they are promoting a free event in the town center with loads of supercars - might appeal to your visitors https://www.facebook.com/LittleSheffield?fref=ts ---------- Post added 26-07-2013 at 20:41 ---------- On the same page I mentioned above they also list.... Activity Sheffield hold their Summer Spectacular at Hillsborough Park 12-5pm. Scale a towering climbing wall, race around the zorb ball track, enjoy arts & crafts with Sheffield Wildlife Trust. There is also a tug of war, wacky races and more! Free entry, some activities charge a small fee.
  3. Yes they were filming there for a couple of days - the house is on the market at the moment though so if there is a series 3 and they want scenes of Harriet at home she may have to move in with the vicar!
  4. Staff who are already employed by the school will have terms & conditions protected when the school turns into an academy (whereas new staff joining will be employed on new conditions). The risks the Union will be referring to is that staff may come under pressure overtime to sign up to new terms and conditions (e.g. working weekends, reduced pay etc). See http://archive.unitetheunion.org/pdf/doc4AcademyFrequentlyaskedquestionsStaffFINAL.pdf
  5. Claire, What a stressful situation for you. I share your concerns about your ex-partner's father having contact with your daughter. If he has a child-abuse conviction I would certainly seek advice as to whether you can set up a stipulation that he is not allowed contact. One suggestion I had would be for you to contact CAFCASS for some support and advice. This is a free service and they will carry out background checks / assessments on your ex and his partner / wider family if you share your concerns. Their website is http://www.cafcass.gov.uk/ Take Care Amy
  6. Anyone mind letting me know what they pay their babysitters? Just trying to gauge whether £7 per hr is about right. (2 kids - aged 5 & 2 both asleep by the time the sitter arrives & we are back before midnight). Thanks x
  7. King Edwards Swimming Pool on Mondays in the morning and Tuesdays early afternoon. They heat the pool up specially so it is @ 33 degrees. Various rafts and balls for babies to play with. Special steps so it is easy to get in whilst holding your baby. £5 for parent / carer plus up to 2 kids.
  8. Hi, I would be interested to hear from any childminders who could do a school pick up from Westways on Tues, Wed & Thurs during term time (my son is 5). Starting from Sept. Thanks, Amy
  9. Well my paper did turn up (at 3pm!). So let's hope all is okay and it was just a one off late opening.
  10. I am fearing the same...esp as they have vouchers for my next 2 months worth of newspapers locked in their safe! Our paper was not delivered today as it usually is.
  11. We've used Nash-Mead before and been impressed. We liked the fact he just charged by the hour. Telephone: 01433 650 979 Fax: 01433 651 820 Web: http://www.nashmead.co.uk
  12. If you go onto the website you can see the outcome of your application tomorrow; https://ems.sheffield.gov.uk/CCSEnterprise_Admissionsonline_LIVE/Home.mvc/Index bw Amy
  13. Newly emerging research indicates that the various processes that determine gender selection are numerous (nature's way of trying to ensure a roughly 50:50 division). Although ew1801 is right in that all eggs carry only x (and it is the y in some male sperm that lead to a baby boy) there is now evidence that each month you will ovulate an egg that will (due to it having either a positive or negative ionic charge) be more receptive to either a y or x sperm. Not sure if there are an ways of knowing which you have released! Try reading the following paper by Ramzi who gives a good overview of current knowledge in his paper on placenta location http://hcp.obgyn.net/ultrasound/content/article/1760982/1878451 Amy x Best of luck, Amy x
  14. My two go to Elmore Kindergarten on Marlborough Rd. Lovely friendly atmosphere, home cooked food, great garden, and offer NHS discounts.
  15. Dr George Carruthers at Broomhill Chioropractic Clinic 266 6076 on Whitham Rd
