We tried Napoli Centro on Friday night and I reckon this is now the best "naples style" pizza place in Sheffield. Proove is still good (and I should say far better than your bog standard chain pizzas) but on a recent trip we though they were a bit too doughy on the edges. Porter pizza is in second place but its not really a place to eat in and frankly it sometimes gets too busy for their own good - the whole place is overstressed at peak times. And the staff turnover is very high so apart from a few regulars (owners) no one seems to know what is going on half the time. Napoli Centro was nicer inside than Porter (i.e. proper tables and chairs) although much smaller than proove. Very friendly bunch. Italian pizzaioli very laid back and the pizza was truly excellent and served in a few minutes . Very thin base with good charred spots on it . Narrow but puffed up, light and crispy edge (the cornicione). Great quality tomato sauce and creamy mozzarella.

However I imagine Winnats Pass will get well and truly stuffed !! So I may stick to Calver , Stoney , A623 to Chapel etc

I think he meant an annual pass. Silver membership with 2 adults and 2 kids is £ 150. We had one of these when the kids were small and bought a book of discounted carpark passes. My wife took the kids loads to play in the (tremendous) adventure playground and we had plenty of family visits to the house and gardens. Well worth it.

On paper at least , Castleton / Winnats Pass/ Chapel - onto A6 then down the new link road (A555?) should be a winner... Depends on just how much traffic ends up trying to get up and down Winnats . At the moment , it is a bit of a secret route (sshhh !!) Otherwise its out to Calver / Stoney Middleton . Get the A623 then the A6 and then the new A555. The new link saves all the chuffing about in Pott Shrigley and finding rat runs past Wilmslow ! And hopefully , I never have to go via Snake / Glossop / Mottram ever again!

Oh No ... I hope they are all OK. A wonderful restaurant run by lovely people. I can only think maybe they decided it was too much with two small kids to look after.

If you have a membership - try Costco. Their prices are pretty keen - and the fitting facility is modern and clean. Plus you can potter round the shop while they fit them and have a slice of pizza.

The length of the indoor slopes are useless for anyone other than beginners... You spend more time queuing / on the lift than actual skiing. And they get busy to the point of being dangerous IMO... In its heydey , the ski village was really quite good , a long few runs and the dendix with the water spray was pretty decent to ski on. And the matting has moved on in response to the indoor real snow slopes. I think it was killed off due to lack of investment - it always felt half cocked, scruffy and tired. Even the new bits like the soft play area and bowling were never clean... Done right , I see no reason why it wouldn't do well.

Have eaten here twice in the last month , once for dinner , once at lunch. The original setup of upmarket asian supermarket downstairs with a restaurant upstairs has been changed. They now have a great cocktail bar and some tables downstairs (plus a patisserie counter) and a very lovely dining room upstairs (where you can see into the kitchen). Great ambience , everything is very clean and new. A quite short pan asian menu , but well executed and not extortionate. Not the thousand choices you might get in e.g. noodle inn centro or Hui Wei . (For me this is better). Deserves to do well. Note the website says the lunchtime is a buffet - this is no longer the case.

Another update. Finally got connected last week...been a 5 month saga dealing with BT (and openreach). Mismatched address on the OR system led to a cancelled and then re-instated order . But now works fine - fibre right into the office so should be easy to keep turning speed up if we need to. Currently getting 70 down and 20 up. If I did it again - I would use another provider - Zen were helpful when I called them for advice...

Its been rubbish forever despite a few people trying. Should be a goldmine with the location and demographic but seems to have been run to cater to cheap and cheerful crowd instead of aiming higher end . Needs to be run along the same lines as Cricket Inn in Totley which is currently better than it has ever been. Abbeydale or Thornbridge brewery needs to get involved.
