  3. hya duffems....i remember mr cartwright standing with us under the stairs at the bottom play ground on our last week having a fag with us...he was a great bloke and was respected by us all....while i,m on does anyone remember CAPTAIN MARVEL at the saturday mattenee at heeley palace..i lived all week for the next serial.....i,m still a kid at heart..haha....
  4. hi Duffems..Iwent to carfield from 1957 to 1961 and i remember a lad called Peter goodison in my class .My last teacher if my memm is right was a MR CARTWRIGHT..regards brian..
  5. i went to carfield with micheal thompson.my grandfather lived at 40 sturge st and the thompsons lived about 10 houses up .i lived on view rd next yard to taggys.
  6. hi haydn just seen your thred.my name is brian smith and i did knock about with dave bailey.still got a photo of dave and his mum with their dog on their back garden.a lad named tommy mcdonald moved in with dave and he too joined the fire service .tommy has now got his own buisness in rotherham doing plaster moulding,very succesful i believe. my best mate was david smith who lived on spencer road,he went into the navy straight from school and finished up a chief petty officer,think he still lives in helston in corwall. i lived in the next yard to taggys,i have a bro called walter and sis catherine. i am now retired and live in mosborough .happy mems. regards..
  7. dear dawn i was born on sunderland st which was down the side of the vine pub 1946 and went to doctor blakes surgery till 1957. going down cemetary rd from the traffic lights ,doc blakes was about 12 houses down opp twist drill. i know it has all changed now.doctor blake was a top surgeon in sheff .he lived on derbyshire lane and i believe he commited suicide...regards.brian
  8. HYA KENFOZZY. Just typed a reply snd pressed wrong key [still learning comp] Its good to know 367 are still out there. I joined the atc when i was 13yrs and 6 month with headmasters approval.1959. Derick lived a stones thro from me .He was a good person.hope he is still with us.have not seen him since about 1964.My pal at 367 was Roy Green he had ginger hair. Stations visited FINNINGLEY CHURCH FENTON COTTESMORE DISHFORTH CHIVENOR . Chivenor was my last annual camp before i left..Got some photos of chiv camp a group photo with Derick standing tall by us titches. Also someone getting debagged at the back of the coach on one of our flying days. I was in the band [bugle] and also in the drill squad.i loved it and still get a lump in my throat when i see parades. Iwas going to join the RAF when i was 18 but i was settled in a job and then i met my wife..job done..I told cynthia about you and she was thrilled [she is still a good looker ha]. I have told her about sheff forum so watch this space. Norton is now deralict what a shame you,d think someone would do something with it .My wife gets a tale from me every time we drive past ,great memms. Anns road school is still standing proud but is slowly being wrecked by vandels. The new Anns road built at the side of the old is a timber construction and it looks drab and dull. What a shame they didn,t spend the money doing up the orginal.Anyway must sign off bed time .hope to chat again ,by the way my name is smith....regards.....brian....
  9. hya black adder your mum lived at 9 court 1 next to mrs everitt and i lived at 9 court 3 the smith family eric and roy used to nock about with my brother walt .my name is brian i was born 1946 and moved in to view rd in 1949 ,iwent to annsrd then carfield.....regards..
  10. hi applegrim i lived at 9 court 3 view rd next yard to taggys .cartwrights in the corner with mrs everitt next then my house SMITHS .i went to anns road from 1951 till iwas 11yrs then carfield left at 1961. cynthia flint is my cousin and i jioned atc cadets with derick land. my brother is called walter and he knocked about lewis roads who lived in taggys yard.also had a sister catherine.mary mitchell lived at chippy on spencer road i think .my memory is bad ...i am 66 haha .phoned cynthia when i saw your thred and she knows every one you wrote down.she lives at heeley green.what a strange world we live in..i come from heeley and now my special needs son works at heeley city farm three days a week ...regards to all heeleyits.....

I was sent to fairthorne in 1957 for three weeks because i was aneamic.I thought it was great .We had to lay on camp beds on the lawn in the afternoon to try and get some rest and fresh air.We just used to mess about.Plenty of walks and outside activertys.The food was good to. Can not remember much else.....

  13. to taekwondo ...if you go to sheff star office york street .you can purchase a book called HEGHLEGH THEN AND HEELEY NOW..you will be gob smacked loads of photos and info regards.....

  15. i moved to heely 1949 when i was three. lived at 9 court 3 view road next yard to taggys ice cream..went to anns road till i was 11yrs old then went to carrfield secondary till i left school in 1961. i had an older brother called walter and a younger sister called catherine. when i was 18yrs my drinking den was the pub nick named the boilers....the sportsman....i lived at view road till i got married 1967 and moved to my wifes home on norfolk park...my first job at 15 was a signwriter for j c plant joiners . after 2 years i changed my job and started ceramic wall and floor tiling for rigby tilers at the bottom of wolsery road. i am now retired and living at mosborough.....if there is any one out there..my name is BRIAN....
