  1. I remember those teachers too. A few more i can think of are :- Music teacher Mr Dilks--Psychopathic tendancies to beat you with a slipper,as did on a couple of occassions Mr Sellers--When the north building caught fire he came into our class (we were in the annexe at Greenhill) smelling of smoke and did the Nazi salute. Never under stood why. Total baffoon but great laugh Miss Jagger--arts teacher, very nice Miss / Mrs Grey --French teacher--didnt like it if you could not speak French ( i struggle with English so she didnt like me) Mr Roberts-- Maths teacher with a bald head--good teacher Mr Jefferies--think he left when i was in 1st year at annexe to see the word ? Mr Metcalfe--metal work, had a beard and was only young built like a brick **** house or thats how it appeared to me at age 11/12 I enjoyed my time at Jordo--didnt leave with much, but good friend (still) and fond memories
  2. I have known Steve Clarke for nearly 50 years. I knew him first when he lived on the Lowedges estate. He then moved onto Jordanthorpe and we went to the same schooltogether--i never lived on "Jordo" so you may not know me. I lost touch with him for a couple of years after we left Jordanthorpe school but met up at a Wednesday away game (he was a Wednesday fanatic then and he still is) and still keep in touch now.
  3. Hi Sedith Was Chicks real name Mick or Paul Hancock If it was Paul he sadly passed away a few years back. If its Mick he is still going strong. He still plays football and he must be nearly 60.
  4. Yes i recall a family call Slingsby who lived at the top of Lupton Rd. If you were born in 58 i should know you as i was born in 57. Would you have known the Dickinsons who lived in the maissonettes. I knew Mick and last spotted him on London Rd about 25 years ago. Other names i recall from that area Ian Blackburn, Glen Broomhead, Roger Hardman, The Hancocks, The Finches --- memories come flooding back of happy times playing on the "Top Field" before the Greenhill Parkway was built.
  5. Hi Tony I remember most of the names you mentioned. I remember Beverly, you are right she was a lovely lady. I remember Avril Ball, if its the same Ball family you refer to. Big Jimmy Wayne, Also a few others Dave Hopkins,Dave Watson ,Poddy Miller,Steve Clarke,John Robinson,Shaun Middleton,Tony (Noddy) North, Tim Muff ,Mick Jowitt , Trev Hill, The Abreo brothers, Any one remember the Michael Church showing movies for 6d / 1 shilling Happy days on the Lowedges in the 60s and 70s. Not so good now i believe though.
  6. Hi chitchats--i spoke to Clarky on Sat about Jordanthorpe school 1965 - 1969 He was racking his brains thinking who lived at 64 He says are your initials A F ? i asked Steve if his dad was in a Japanese prisoner of war camp. He was.
  7. Steves dad passed away a few months ago. His mum still lives on Jordo. I remember his subuteo talents, he was the same when he lived on lowedges.

  9. Roger Turney---last time i saw you was 1974 i believe, in the "Hole in t Road"--i remember those names from the past. Other names i remember:- John Robinson Steve Clarke Trev Hill Brian Trigg Paul Winters Christine Kaye--Beautiful young lady Anthony North Kevin Percival Ian Hurst Tony Crapper (i knew he had changed his name) was the art teacher Miss Jagger ? I remember Jordanthorpe school when we had to walk from the Annexe in Greenhill village (its a Doctors now) , to the North Building.
