BudLover replied to curry addict's topic in Going out in Sheffield
Read it again; slowly. Ms Rat makes no mention of being sick on account of the food. Libelous? Get out of my court!! -

The powers that be must be chuffed that people are lapping up their propeganda -
Their beers drink like nectar. Excellent stuff, though I rarely get to drink it these days as my local fell in to the hands of satan (Enterprise Inns) and he can't stock it anymore. And to the OP....no, you were not doing anything wrong.

Planning Application Clifton Crescent Handsworth

Against.....against, against. This just sounds like a vendetta based on what he has done previously. You have not really provided one rational point against the project. -
Planning Application Clifton Crescent Handsworth
BudLover replied to j98243's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I thought that building work had to be signed off by the council?? If the building is different to the plans, won't he be told to alter it or remove it?? I'm sorry to say this j98243, but you are comming accross as totally unreasonable in this. It seems to me that you are unhappy with what he has previously done to the property (even though it is within planning regs) and are using this new application to try and have a go back at him?? -
Difficult to compare as side by side beers, as IMO they are different beer styles. I would regard Stones as a Pale Ale and Magnet as a Special Bitter. There is much more roastiness and toffee flavour in Magnet from the use of the darker malts. Stones is balanced more towards the hops with quite a clean malt profile (IIRC they use a blend of American and Euro hops)........slightly off topic, but I think that different hops were used for cask conditioned Stones. I would say that Stones is easier drinking than Magnet.

Too strong for light work. How do these people get jobs?
BudLover replied to Riannon's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I would say that she doesn't have much room for manouvre because she is complaining/maoning to the wrong people. -

Riannon; have you written to the store about this to complain? Or, are you just hoping they pick up your moan on SF?? -
I really do think you get what you pay for with regard to shoes. I usually buy Rossi or Blundstone boots for casual wear and Ecco shoes for work. The boots I would expect to pay between £90 and £110 for and for the shoes around £70. I would expect 2 years wear from the shoes - 5 days a week in an office environment and I've pairs of boots that I must have had for 6 or 7 years that still look good. I also find that cheap shoes do not give the support that is really needed and can end up causing a lot of foot problems. ATB

People scrounging (or stealing) food from supermarket bins
BudLover replied to alemap's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I cannot believe some of the attitudes in this thread. Rather than asking about whether taking food from bins is illegal, shouldn't we be asking, why in this day and age are some people forced to seek an existance by taking food from a supermarket bin? I don't know which bit has made me more depressed.....the fact that people are seemingly that much in need that they need to do this to survive or the fact that some people seem more interested that someone may be commiting a crime. -
Whatever the 'legal situation'....if I was in a similar situation the car owner would return to a vehicle that was not quite in the condition that he/she left it. Me? I didn't see anything....and kindly don't park there again; thanks.

They have every right to moan about the verges. If they are left to grow too high, they become a motoring hazard as they can obscure your view when waiting to pull out of a junction. If people start cutting the verges themselves, I could see the council/streetforce taking issue with it on health and safety grounds or some other ridiculous reason. They will be concerned about someone injuring themselves and having to defend some sort of equally ridiculous claim against them.
