  1. Johnnie1hair, I wouldn't be changing to much if I was you, the Rother is hard work and you are catching. Chop and change between the usual Barbel baits on standard rigs. Location is the key on the Rother. Try different pegs and stretches. Fish stocks are low in my opinion and catches exaggerated, but the odd decent Barbel are there.
  2. Yes, i think its a minnow too. They go these vibrant colours durring their spawning season, they are usually a mottled brown. When i fished the Rother for a period, three or so seasons back, they were absolute nuisance to be honest!
  3. Hi Sheff13, Who do you believe the more trustworthy to be? I couldn't really guess from your post. Thanks.
  4. There was a match on Pond 2 (the big kjs pond) on Sunday. Never heard so many anglers slag a venue so much. The noise, attitude and bad language being shouted by em was embarrasing. Unsure if it was an open or club match. Funny thing is that lake is fishing better than ive known it in 25 years, at least it is for me when its less populated and quiet.
  5. KJS for me. Kjs offers a bit more variety of fishing i feel. Aston Park seems more directed/suited to the match angler and that approach to fishing. In my opinion, even the Lilly Pond has lost that secluded old estate lake feel it had for many years. Mind you Lake 2 at KJS, the big pond, has lost a lot of bankside trees etc. after recent landscaping. My 14 year old son has fished KJS most days in the easter holidays and has had good fish every session, in some pretty poor weather conditions to.
