  1. Pulp, Def Leppard, Joe Cocker! Arctic Monkeys are quite small fry to Def Leppard! Might have something to do with them being rubbish....
  2. Ha ha that's what I would call a premium service!! I just believe it's a two way street. I'll always try and do the best as I can as a tenant to make things work. For instance if I think something might improve the property but it's unfair to ask the Landlord but it'll only cost £100 or so I'll pay it out of my own money! But I wouldn't pay for a new boiler ha ha!
  3. Ha ha like it! We will have to agree to disagree on the matter. But the way you're tenants have behaved is unacceptable as well. I like to try and have a good relationship with my Landlords I've had in the past and even in that situation I would still be courteous and level headed! If you had some tenants you actually liked, you might even feel different about speeding up the repair!
  4. To be fair your tenants do sound like utter puddings! Makes sound logic "I know what, we want our boiler fixing, lets tell the landlord he can never set foot on our property". Don't start to think I'm siding with you though ha ha. I almost wish it was me that was your tenant and this happened. I would relish the challenge sir!
  5. I've had a look and you end up paying a load of interest per month more! The 95% ones need to be good value! It's slowly happening though!
  6. Ha ha the gentlemans golf driving gloves comment did actually make me laugh ha ha. We're waiting for the market to be right. When 95% mortgages become more prevalent then we will buy. Just don't want to skint myself to save up 10k just to satisfy the bank. 95% mortgage and I'll think about it!
  7. They've already held on for a few days but like I say no need for them to be nasty. As for the "bite the hand that feeds comment" that's just ridiculous. Like I said before it's a service not a charity. Tenants are not a lower class of people. They have just as much freedom to leave your property if they wish. I earn 30k a year and the Mrs 25k and we rent. I don't need a hand to "feed" me. Just don't want to spend 10k on a house deposit.
  8. There's no need for nasty text messages but seriously even 5 days is too long to have not even had someone to come and look at it. I'd have been on to private lettings at the council by now. Possibly look at getting the repair done myself and then taking you to small claims court. It's not acceptable and they are the hard done to ones, not you. Just phone a plumber and get some quotes.
  9. If you are a real Landlord, you're not providing a charity, you are providing a service! People pay for that service and expect to get their moneys worth! You work for your tenants....
  10. Ha ha ha this has got to be a wind up! Calm down people! You'd have to be a bit thick to think 21 days is acceptable before you fix the boiler! It's an emergency repair. I'm sure the relevant authorities would side with the tenant....
  11. Glad to hear that! I used to go as a kid, late 80's early 90's. Brings back memories. I always remember the topless calendar he used to have on the wall ha ha
  12. I was just wondering if Aldo's Barbers was still on Bellhouse Rd? I used to go there as a kid and was just wondering.
  13. Don't go to Holland & Barrett unless you like getting ripped off!! My Whey on Abbeydale Road is good. Even cheaper on internet! My Protein is a good site!
  14. That is one of the most ridiculous analogies I have ever heard!the smell of Cannabis in the car relates directly to the possible offence, same as smell alcohol in car, breath test time! Anyone who allows their car to smell of either should expect to be dealt with. If it were up to me, drug or drink drivers would be instantly banned for life and car siezed with no hope of getting it back!
  15. I'm a 31 year old lad who doesn't want kids but I'm capable of interacting with other peoples! I think it's always good when you can give them back at the end of the day though!
  16. They class leaving it in a public place as putting it down in a public place and walking off. If you'd have just said you had it while you were out in your pocket and you checked and it wasn't there, not admitted leaving it unattended in a public place they would have paid out!
  17. Not good that! The one I had a run in was fairly small and quite skinny! Proper mouthy! If I could have got away with giving him a bit of a slap I would!
  18. Not my place to give them money. ---------- Post added 04-05-2013 at 09:42 ---------- Exactly what charity and welfare is for! He had decent clothes on and was washed! I'm fairly confident he wanted it for other reasons and wasn't homeless!
  19. Just for people to be aware, Thursday evening about 8PM, I was walking down West Street and I was approached by a male asking for change outside Dominos. When I told him no, he got quite aggressive. Granted he waited until I was halfway down the road to shout obscenities. I think it's because I didn't want to hear his sob story and told him I had no change before he'd finished. Just so people know they're getting aggressive and don't be suckered in by the sob story!
  20. Ha ha too right! They're just as bad! ---------- Post added 27-04-2013 at 14:24 ---------- That's true as well!
  21. My Dad was signed off permanent from work so he was on disability but that's not the point, the point is they lived within their means and if anyones wondering I and my two brothers all have jobs so we're not a workshy family! I appreciate the jobs possibly aren't there and I'm not having a go at anyone who has not got a job and needs help! The people I am disgusted with are the ones who, like I said, live on benefits and expect to be able to afford luxuries and then moan about paying for essential stuff!
  22. It's about time some people got their priorities straight and paid their bills before buying other things! Some people smoke 30 a day, pour cider down their neck like it's going out of fashion and have a 52" plasma from Brighthouse and then moan about "bedroom tax" and extra council tax. If they didn't smoke and drink a lot of them could afford it! Also some people have about 6 kids and expect everyone else to pay for them! When I grew up, my mum and dad were both unemployed but every bill got paid! Why? Because they didn't drink a drop and never smoked! The money they got was spent on what it is intended for! To pay bills and eat! If you want luxuries, you should have a job! Benefits should be no more than just to survive and be healthy unless you can't work! If you are too ill to work then we should, as a society be looking after people!
  23. If anyone thinks there are areas the police "daren't go" then they are a teeny bit deluded...
  24. In America you have no choice. Driver doesn't handle money so you either have a saver or put money in a slot in a machine near the driver. You can put what you want in but don't expect any change!!
  25. I'd try not to worry about it. We've got a Staffy and if you shut the living room door and he knows you're in there, within less than a minute he's barking and making this daft noise where he sounds like he's being strangled! It's just in their nature! They love to be with their owner and feel like it's the end of the universe if you disappear for a minute! I wouldn't change that though! One of best type of dog you can have!
