  1. It seems like no-one wants to work or have a little self respect in how they get their money. I work for a small firm and our company has been advertising for staff for at least 6 months. Try inviting people to apply when advertising on Indeed. People don't turn up for interviews after confirming it with them with the handful that have applied that way or generally no applications at all. Due to this, I'm reliant on other people in the chain to do their job at my company in order for me to do mine. Seeing as no one is there to do it, my job is at risk. It's a nightmare situation to be in, hence why I'm trying to be proactive in seeking alternative employment.
  2. Realise this thread is almost 3 years old. Apologies for dragging an old thread up, but would anyone be interested in getting a cinema/film meet/group going again? At the risk of sounding like billy no mates, my social circle all seem not to want to do cinema as they're busy with partners/families etc or are not generally interested in the cinema. Meeting like minded people in a similar situation would be good
  3. Can anyone tel me whether The Money Shop on Hatfield House Lane is still open please? Tried looking on their website, but can't find any information. Google is still sowing it online, but just wanted to confirm the information's not out of date before heading down there later. Thanks in advance
  4. Has anyone been to the one at the Keepmoat Doncaster? Silly question - but is it held in the car park? How's that one work?
  5. Anyone know what Halifax Road/Wadsley Bridge is like? Had to leave my car last night near Wadsley Bridge WMC and walk the rest of the way home. Don't want to go out, if it means another walk there and back because the roads are bad.
  6. I've sent an email saying I'm able to commit to this and asked for further details, but not had a response as yet saying whether you still need people to do it. Is there a specific date when people will be let know whether they are needed or not??
  7. Does anyone know of anywhere that wants empty Samsung toners and Epson inks? I know there was a post earlier on in the thread about some not taking Epson?
  8. It is quite basic, but I find it is a good little gym. Easily affordable, no contracts, not your typical what I would call 'meat head' gym. You kind of get let alone to your own devices, but if you do want a chat with the person on the next piece of equipment, they're friendly enough. Tend to have a 15 minute usage time at busy periods as well.
  9. Sorry to drag up an old thread, but would anyone be interested in an official/unofficial whatever film group? There's quite a few films I wouldn't mind going to see, but not on my own. I know I may sound like a billy no mates, but most of my friends are now married, in relationships, have kids, moved on etc, so would like to see if anyone else interested in films would like to meet up on a regular/semi regular basis.
  10. yep, would be a fab idea :P wonder if there's a market for it
  11. think they must have misinformed you. In all the times I've sold at Tesco, which is for the past couple of years, it's never been 4pm in the afternoon
  12. not sure when the next 1 is, but don't think there's any more until next year. Don't start at 4 in the afternoon, more like 6am in the morning
  13. City Auto Salvage is their name. Chambers Lane, S4. Contact number is 0114 2440808 Alternatively, try Sheff Motor Spares, Grange Lane, S5. 0114 257 0114
  14. Depends what department you're going on. Are you going on a temp contract through Blue Arrow or on a perm contract through Knowhow themselves?
  15. exactly, depends on car and what price of scrap is on that particular day. Best thing to do is look in yellow pages and call all various breakers yards
  16. May seem like a bit of a strange request, but are there people on this forum who'd be up for meeting for a few games of pool/snooker. It's something I used to play when I was younger (although a bit rusty now ) and am lookign to get back into it. However, for various reasons (family/kids/lack of interest) my current social circle aren't up for a few racks. Just wondered if anyone else was interested in meeting up for a knockabout. Thanks for reading
  17. It said it did, and there were at least 2, sometimes 3 changes according to the website when I checked earlier, hence why I'm asking for prices as I have said before, don't want to be carting luggage from train to coach to train again in 3 different stations.
  18. Found it on their page earlier, engineering works between Selby and Hull/Brough. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/currentAndFuture.html?nojs=true&action=true&txtTravelDate=17%2F03%2F2012&toc= Description East Coast Saturday Buses will run between Doncaster, Selby, Brough and Hull connecting with train services to / from London Kings Cross. Sunday 17:20 London Kings Cross to Hull - will be diverted to Leeds, a connecting bus will run from Doncaster to Selby, Brough and Hull. First Hull Trains The following alterations will apply: Trains between London Kings Cross and Hull will be diverted via Goole and will start / terminate at Brough Buses will run between Brough and Hull and between Selby and Howden connecting with trains at Goole On Sunday, the 09:30 Hull to London Kings Cross and the 10:45 London Kings Cross to Hull services will not run First Transpennine Express Buses replace trains between Selby and Hull calling at Brough. But back on topic, anyone know of any decent taxi services as I don't want to be carting cases/luggage between trains/stations. Thanks
  19. Looking for suggestions on reliable/decently priced taxis. Going to Bridlington 17th March, coming back on 18th March for 2 adults. Would go on the train, but according to National Rail, there's engineering works. Thanks in advance
  20. Whatever you do, be careful of the carvery. My mum had the turkey and she was poorly for 3 days afterwards. The meat looked as though it had been under the hot plate all day.
  21. Posting on behalf of my aunt who's having problems with the laptop she has. She's not computer savvy, so has just given me limited information at the moment. She has recently purchased a HP Laptop from comet. It's one of the recent ones, although she's not entirely sure of the exact model. She's recently connected to Plusnet broadband. Yesterday she kept getting messages saying there was a 'breakdown' on the computer and it needed to go to 'repair mode'. She wasn't able to connect to the net. As I say, her computer knowledge isn't the best and as yet I haven't had the chance to look at it myself. Just wondered if anyone had any advice of what to look for when I get the chance to have a look at it. Thanks in advance.
  22. I haven't signed on. I was supposed to sign on the day I started my new job, but called them to say I had signed off and brought in my signing booklet the day before with all the details on. Ooops, does that mean that if I have they won't do anything about it?
  23. Thanks for the reply guys. I have now written a detailed letter which I'm going to give to the job centre. Hope something gets sorted soon. I can see the point of if I don't sign on I don't get paid, therefore I am not committing fraud. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I just want them to do their job and close my case.
