About: Knife and Folk are a creative collective of people from Sheffield. We aim to celebrate and support local artists, musicians and independent companies. Ultimately, we want to support the community and the good old folk of Yorkshire. Description We’re having our first event at APG (THE ARCHIPELAGO WORKS) on Saturday the 28th of April. It will be the first of many and what better way to start it all off than to hold it for a good cause: We’re raising money and awareness of the charity Amnesty International. It’s going to be an art exhibition open evening, the exhibition will be showcasing 20 Sheffield Artists’ work and their response to the notion of 'FREEDOM OF SPEECH' and 'HUMAN RIGHTS'. Including illustrators, graphic designers, graffiti artists, tattoo artists, 3d crafters, printmakers and animators and more. The event starts at 6pm and will include: + An exhibition that will be up for 1 week after the opening show. + Live Art (from the Knife & Folk Collective and friends) + Interactive artwork and installations (get involved!) + Live music (a few acoustic folky sets and a DJ) + Food (lots of yummy cupcakes!) + A bar (with alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages) + Stalls (from independent clothing lines to jewellery) + A raffle (with prizes you’d actually want to win!) + & lots more! BEST OF ALL ITS FREE! However, as it's for charity, if you pay the £1 contribution on entry, we will enter you into the raffle. If your number gets called out you can pick your prize from the bunch! Can't say fairer than that! Doors open at 6pm End: 9/10pm. Keep checking back to this page for confirmation of the 20 artists, any changes and more updates!
