Cheers for the info, Steptoad. Did you have any other impressions other than 'too loud'? Garypeacock and Phil Murray - do you have any particular recollections of that Arts Centre gig...?
-
Steptoad, I think that may have been February 1981. A band called Crude played with them. What was so intriguing about the posters that you felt compelled to go?
-
Phil - thanks for that! Rotherham was their second gig (July 1980) but didn't know 'Stepping Stone' had been played there. I think they played with Naughtiest Girl was a Monitor. Norton - I wonder which member of DvD you are (Ogy? John? Nick?). I've recently made available one of the old Premonition Tapes from Paul Mills (with his blessing) that features 'Fix the Kitchen' and a fascinating interview with Ogy. Bad Hair Day - I think the first ever Pulp gig was at City School in Feb/Mar 1980. That's one of the times they played Stepping Stone. They seemed to play twice more in November and again in March/April '81 (with Crude). Any of these ring a bell, or do you think there are any more...? Thanks for your various remiscenses, guys!

Hi, Not sure anyone'll be able to help me with this, but I was wondering whether anyone here ever saw Pulp play live in the 1980s? As a sidenote, I have tapes of quite a few 80s gigs by them, but I'm always looking for more, if anyone has any to swap/sell. Or if they just have any stories of seeing them back then! Cheers, Stephen

Hi! Anyone remember - or have any means of contacting - Ian Spence who used to put out records (well, cassettes) on his 'Company Classics' label in the early/mid 80s in Sheffield...?
-
Hi all, I'm trying to track down members of the band 'This Machine Kills' who were around Sheffield in the 80s/90s and was hoping that this would be a good place to start! Regards, Stephen

How about 'The Detail' featuring a keyboardist named Terry and a female singer. If anyone remembers them, please let me know!
