  1. Thank you Jeffrey, can I take it from that, that you would assume PAS would be unlikely to respond to requests from the lender's conveyancer in a timely manner, thus risking the validity of the offer (6 months)
  2. Hello Jeffrey, Do you have any experience with coppen/PAS and remortgages? It appears the providers conveyancer will (attempt!) to contact them for details as part of the process. Having read many threads on here; will PAS respond? - and if not, is there a way of 'encouraging' them by a specific process? Also assume they will charge one of their lovely admin fees to do whatever is required.
  3. PAS/Coppen have been buying up leases recently so a whole new swathe of people are being introduced to them. Very useful thread indeed. In terms of their annual insurance fee con; is there actually a "requirement" to send your insurance details? Or will simply coughing up to their demands satisfy their snouts? Looking to sell in the not too distant future so at this point I think I'd rather bend over and take it rather than faff about with a s164 notice and risk them playing silly buggers at sale. Awful people.
  4. Are you from the council/veolia?! Mine was emptied yesterday, 7 days after it was meant to be (they didn't empty it on the proper day because they decided to use that day to catch up on other parts of the city?!) - and they didn't bother coming today for the blue bin. What a joke.
  5. Hi guys, I recently did 6 hours with Horizon (http://www.horizonschoolofmotoring.co.uk/) after reading the reviews on here before I went on an intensive course. Allan was the consumate professional, very knowledgeable and very friendly. I would recommend him/them highly and would have carried on having lessons with him without a seconds thought if I hadn't been lucky enough to get a free course and the tutition from Horizon certainly contributed to me passing first time. Infact I think I actually learnt more with Horizon than I did on the actual course!?? Thanks Allan (forum user http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/member.php?u=2267 )
  6. Is this the woman that used to sing about Jesus on the bus?! Legend! Not the best singer around though
  7. Shame they can't clean up the inside of the White Rose whilst they're at it
  8. Cheers, guys. I took the honest approach and the school (lots of good reviews on here) actually offered me a better deal for it ! The course is two weeks, well it could be one week as the test is on the friday, can't really ask for experience after the course as it's run by an agency somewhere else. Although the course is designed with the absolute beginner in mind and it's a very well proven and successful course I feel I'd just like a little experience of even sitting in a car before it. And it's free too so I'd be a bloody fool to turn up without any prior knowledge/experience. As for books, I shall have a browse at "driving the essential skils", I've got the HC on order.
  9. Greetings all, I have a question - I have an intensive course coming up soon. I have never driven before and I would ideally like some pratice before the course, however my girlfriend seems to think if I ring up an instructor and tell them this they might just string me along for some easy cash or such like. So, do you think I tell them I only want to do like 5 lessons before a course or just act like I'm a normal learner?
  10. Manor Top TAC is wanted by Tesco to become a distribution centre (ie warehouses) not an actual supermarket. TA units have separate staff, so there would no savings in that regard. It's not really about running costs anyway, it's real estate! ££££££££££££££. Tesco offer to build a new shiny TAC for free and the RFCA/MOD get to sell off the land the current TACs are on? Win win win (for them) From what I gather, this is down to poor drills on the side of whoever (council? Enviroment Agency?) who forgot to open the levies or such like when we had the floods. Silly that,
  11. Perhaps the Police could prosecute the fathers of a lot of them? Statutory rape seems to be forgetten these days.
  12. Even the roads in Death Valley are better than Sheffield roads. No joke!
  13. Another one for Primark down; specifically the Castle Market / Waingate Area + in particular those bus stops... errrrrrrrrgh. It even smells bad as well :/
