  1. Sorry, couldn't find this. ---------- Post added 30-04-2013 at 22:22 ---------- It's interesting to see that Labour have stepped up their campaigning this year unlike usual when they're quite quiet. It annoys me that the Lib Dems are criticising Labour for making cuts to Libraries, Don Valley etc. because it is the Lib Dems and Conservatives in government who are forcing these cuts to local councils, not forgetting that Labour councils across the country receive less money than Liberal Democrat and Conservative run councils. Also, Cliff Woodcraft claims he is campaigning for improved roads in Sheffield yet the Liberal Democrats (Labour too) neglected them for many years only for the Labour run council to secure a government grant for road improvements, not the Liberal Democrats. I am sure Cliff Woodcraft is a very nice honsest man, but the spin The Liberal Democrats have been putting on Labour policies is ridiculous, as well as always implying Trade Union links.
  2. I don't know how many places in Sheffield are voting for new councillors this year but there is a by-election in Fulwood ward. Thought I'd start this thread to see what people thought of it so far, the campaigning and such.
  3. No, it was a perfectly valid point. Proffessionals are susceptible to distractions which can put them off. I have given two other examples now but you are still in denial! It is a shame that we are falling apart but perhaps the fans behind the net could be a little more supportive.
  4. Well he's not in the army is he!!! Tom Daley suffered from a flash in extreme pressure, why shouldn't McMahon? ---------- Post added 20-04-2013 at 19:38 ---------- ---------- Post added 20-04-2013 at 11:49 ---------- As you correctly point out, people miss penalties for a variety of reasons but a flash is one of those! It's not a lame excuse at all, people shouldn't have a flash on behind a penalty taker unless you want to distract him. I'd rather take no chances at times of extreme pressure. You mentioned a woman flashing not being a proper distraction. Watch this please and see if you still agree.
  5. No, I am blaming the flash. He obviously isn't a crap diver because he won a bronze medal in the olympics. He re-did his dive because of the flash. I think your response was pretty lame, you clearly don't know what happened yet you have an opinion on it and you have the arrogance to tell me what I believe when you clearly don't understand at all. Look, we both support the same team and we both want to get them promoted don't we? Why don't you want it to be easier for your team to be able to score penalties or do you want their own fans distracting them?
  6. Well he had to dive again due to flashes in the crowd and he wasn't even facing them. These people are only human, being a professional does not stop you from being affected by a flash in the crowd causing you to be put off a penalty. Just because you say professionals should be used to this doesn't mean they are or ever will be, if they were then nobody would have tried putting off the Brentford player. If you have any sense, you will turn off your camera flash in a midweek match if you are sitting behind the goal net. You can try and blame the player for not responding in a different way to the bright light in the crowd but the fact of the matter is, how much do you want to go up? The fact of the matter is that it is that this is a distraction. Months ago we were first, we couldn't have sacked him then. I don't think McCarthy would go down into the depths of League One, unrealistic.
  7. If any fans cared about getting promoted then they would have a flash on behind the goal post when a player is trying to score a penalty under intense pressure. It was a poor pen but when you are trying to focus and there's someone with a bright light in the crowd just behind where you are trying to aim, I imagine it is quite off putting. He will have placed, much the same as Robson placed it, there was only a few millimetres difference between the two of them! We all saw what happened to Tom Daley when he had a problem with flashes in the Olympics.
  8. I go to a sixth form so I thought it would be 70p and I show my travel pass and sometimes I get 80p although I thought it was only 70p. ---------- Post added 18-04-2013 at 21:34 ---------- I think he knows how to spell students but he's taking the ****. Anyway, don't you just hate how much they contribute to the local economy? Really gets on my nerves that how much money they spend in the city whilst living here. ---------- Post added 18-04-2013 at 21:35 ---------- That'll be it. Didn't really get the joke, wouldn't have thought there was one except he pointed it out at the end of the sentence.
  9. No, I know exactly lol means but I didn't get the joke. You were just saying it should be 80 quid but I don't get how that is funny, oh well.
  10. When a home player is taking a penalty the home fans behind the goalnet ought to turn off the flash on their cameraphones because I imagine it is quite distracting seeing a bright light going at a tense moment like that. No wonder he hit the post twice in 2 penalties!
  11. Thank you. ---------- Post added 16-04-2013 at 18:31 ---------- I don't understand?
  12. I could have sworn the fare for a student on the bus was 70p but I was charged 80p today by First and I know others wh have been charged the same. Is this a mistake or has price actually risen to 80p?
  13. There aren't any. I am very sorry to hear of your loss but no medium will be able to contact them for you. Please don't waste your money on people who are either deluded or scamming you out of your money. I know it's not what you asked for but please do consider the complete absence of evidence of any supernatural ability that mediums claim to have before parting with your money and talking about sensitive subjects with these people.
  14. +1 Every 10 minutes on the 120 which would be fine but they are not on time an awful lot. They've been better since October but it's really not acceptable to have to wait 20 minutes on a busy route like the 120 especially when there seem to be so many more Stagecoach 120s.
  15. Yes, it's only an extra pound a year. I'd rather the Olympic legacy had more to do with promoting sport and keeping Don Valley open rather than ex-Olympians making a career as a celebrity on the reality TV merry-go round.
