  1. SOmebody did damage my car, and I don't blame them for driving off. Like I said, if its an additional couple of £100 per year on my car insurance "v" paying for my family's needs, then the family come first.
  2. I think its a fear of losing your no claims bonus (cost of repairs) Even with full no claims, insurance costs are going up and so with a claim then that cost would go up even further. Its not about ignorance, its about the fact people's finances are stretched. For the sake of a minor dint in someones car (for example when parking up at a supermarket) are you going to be honest if it will cost you £100s extra each year for a minor mistake. For the record I would drive off. And before anyone asks, I have a dint in my car as a result of someone else who decided to drive off after a minor bump. I can understand why they drove off (additional cost to insurance) and I would do the same.
  3. I think a local bobby should have been sent over, punched one of the organisers in the face and then walked off. That would have sent a warning to other people wishing to set raves up
  4. The Israelis will soon be sorting the Iranians out. Once that little fracas is over and Israel has shown who the boss is in that part of the world, petrol prices will drop
  5. Great to see the blades strikers penetrating the oppositions goalkeeper, and on their travels. Hooray !!!
  6. Why not simply move to the areas where the best schools are? Dore, Silverdale, Whirlowdale etc... if you live in these areas, you have a better chance of getting into these schools. If you live in an area like Fir Vale, Firth Park - then your local schools is not likely to be your first choice. And before anyone mentions grammer schools, that is simply eliteist and segregates people based on their ability I prefer the current system where it depends on how rich your parents are. Its all about being equal but only if your rich
  7. Not in a row boat, but in a yaught
  8. We are all in this together and we should all do our bit. However, my bit should not go any further than watching the news (or reading the paper) about people losing their homes, commiting suicide and people who are so poor they cannot put the heating on in their homes. I like to read and listen to storys about people who are so poor they are struggling to be able to afford to put the petrol in the car to get to work. Thats my bit, I am in this in the sense - I find entertainment in listening to other peoples woes, and my woes extend to my traveling expenses being cut to 35p a mile, and having to have a starbucks on Eccelsall Road, rather than going to LOndon on a fact finding mission and having a starbucks in London during my break. We went to Majorca for a conference about how we could reduce our carbon emissions, and we thought it would be a good idea to make the staff pay a carbon tax of £20 a week, which we could then use to fly around the world to have meetings about "reducing our carbon emissions" We are all in this together, we have to knuckle down and find a solution. More fact finding missions needed.
  9. Is a bi sexual someone who pays for sex, ie, buys sex - from someone who provides the service?
  10. We are all in this together. I have had to sack 12 members of staff, and hand a pay freeze to the admin workers. The admin workers did agree to this, as the other option was to be sacked, so its great that workers are willing to be flexible to meet the needs of the service. I have seen the expenses allowed for travelling been cut back, and so instead of getting 75p a mile travelling fees, I now only get 35p a mile. This means when I drive to London for a coffee at my favourite Starbucks restaurant it now costs even more. We are all suffering
  11. Women are more empowered than they have ever been, and women have made great strides in the past 15 years, for example 1) women have equal rights in the workplace 2) women have access to maternity rights and other rights 3) women are outperforming men in education 4) many women are getting managerial roles within the public sector 5) women have access to working tax credits 6) women have access to childcare 7) women are working themselves to the bone women are bearing the brunt of the current recession 9) working tax credit hours have been increased to 24 hours, meaning its becoming unviable to work for many part time women Its probably easier to go back to the old ways, man = breadwinner working down the pit bringing in a good wage, woman = pot washerer and hoover expert.
  12. Its also not clear as to which way you go around the roundabout. Going to be many accidents
  13. We don't want any trouble chaps, keep it civilised. We know what happened in the 90s with you serbs mixing it up with the kosovans, the croats and whoever else you got annoyed with
  14. One old gentleman was driving around the roundabout the wrong way, he went round 3 times and then crashed into a lamp post. :hihi::hihi:
  15. With a growing number of WORKERS (yes workers) struggling to meet costs of everyday life, many workers cannot afford rent/housing and thats despite many working full time, and more people in work are struggling with the cost of getting to work (bus costs, train costs, petrol costs). Although this problem affects lowest paid workers, the problem is slowly catching up with middle income workers. I do feel Occupy do have a valid and important point to make. I disagree with the fact they wish to target business (or protesting organisations like them) for tax avoidance. I do think if they were to support a cut in benefits, especially to those who come to this country simply to get benefits, pulling out of foregn wars, cutting foregn aid and cutting money to druggies and other wasters in society, then I'd back them 100%. I do think they aim their protests in the wrong direction
