  1. The statement says to put your bin out on Saturday, it doesn't specifically say it will be emptied on that day.
  2. Yes, it most likely is a big scam. I joined a passport forum last year when there were massive delays in getting passports renewed. Lots of posts on there that recommended some random person who would be able to sort it for you very quickly if you clicked on the link provided.
  3. Maybe it was Don Kiddick? How he got away with that user name for so many years given the moderation was remarkable :)
  4. I'm sure mine was a Diana as well and it definitely loaded the way you describe.
  5. Firing an air pistol at your friends from an upstairs window as they ran around the garden with metal dustbin lids as shields 😱 It seemed great fun at the time but in hindsight incredibly dangerous! Hearing the ping as a pellet hit one of the lids was a highlight at the time, luckily no-one got injured.
  6. Here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiZPqTfCBis
  7. Yes, that's where it was. I had my rackets re-stringed there in the 70's once and my parents moved into a house opposite that lane in the mid 80's, and rented a garage there as well. I remember it being knocked down in the early 90's and the new building works in progress. Roger Taylor had links to the club as well I think.
  8. Not good news I'm afraid https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/local-news/mysterious-death-body-found-front-18960930
  9. That is all far too familiar to me and brings back some very unpleasant memories from 1988. The only time I've ever been hospitalised and I wouldn't wish the experience on my worst enemy! Well, apart from my ...............
  10. Fully agree with this. Totally refurbished my kitchen nearly 20 years ago and found a diagonal cable from the switch to the electric oven. Missed drilling into it by about 5mm 🥴
  11. Yep, sounds like arthritis. Had the same symptoms about two years ago. At first I thought I must have strained my hand around the thumb joint and I expected it to just go away. It didn't and my doctor referred me to Thornbury. I was stunned when the xrays were diagnosed as arthritis, thought I was far too young (56 at the time)!
  12. Drive this route both ways every day and always use the right hand lane if there's queuing traffic. The two lanes are there for a reason, not using the outside lane would be a waste of tarmac! Unfortunately there's always a few that think you're queue jumping and move over to block the lane. There's only one situation there that doesn't contravene the Highway Code and it's not the one I choose I've seen a number of threads over the years on here discussing this and suggesting that there should be merge in turn signs in place. Whilst that may go some way to enlighten the enraged, it wouldn't be really necessary if people were aware of the Highway Code rules on this. Of course, it would have been sensible to build the road wider with two lanes throughout but we have what we have and I doubt it's going to change.
  13. And the ones who indicate as they start the turn, or after, or not at all.
  14. That's worth an acknowledgement at the very least. Great observations 😀
  15. Try rebooting your router if you haven't already.
  16. Yes, been going on for the last week or two! Very loud and very annoying. The excessive revving seems deliberate, no doubt some idiot boosting his self-esteem in the only way he can.
  17. That head garb is called an anti-flash hood and is fire-retardant. It is worn along with fire retardant clothing** and gloves by everyone on a warship when there is a high threat of enemy action and the ship is at 'Action Stations'. The injured in this video have already been 'medivac'd' to one of the aircraft carriers (Hermes or Invincible, can't be sure which one from the video) and are being attended to by medics from that carrier. They were not on HMS Sheffield. ** Not very fire retardant in 1982 as it turned out. This was one of the lessons learnt from the Falklands War and proper fire retardant materials for uniform were gradually introduced over the following years.
  18. I use it every day both ways to and from work and agree that it does work very well. The filter area for the right turn into Beighton Road has also reduced the queues that used to build up towards the main roundabout by the police station. The only thing that you can't legislate for is the idiots who ignore or don't understand roundabout rules, and/or don't indicate!
  19. So it still costs a fair bit then? Thought those prices were remarkably cheap! I only really use Word and Excel so may be cheaper to get them individually before support ends for my Office 2010 Professional Plus later next year.
  20. How come Office is so cheap nowadays, especially the Professional editions? Doesn't seem that long ago that I recall seeing prices up in the £200-300+ range.
  21. Noticed that too. Possibly as a result of the car that ended up in the trees on the other side of the roundabout a week or so ago.
  22. Used to play a league with a few friends in the 70's. Remember laying the pitch on the living room carpet, ironing it then pinning it down tight to get the perfect playing surface! Usually bought teams from Redgates and Suggs and hand painted some of them when the team colours I wanted weren't available. Also had Test Match cricket and I've still got it in more or less perfect condition up in the loft. Last time I looked they were selling on eBay for up to 90 quid!
  23. I drive it every day to work and back and I can't say that I've seen any formal 'New Road Layout' signs. There are some roadworks signs on the side of the road but far too close to the roundabout IMO. The mini-roundabout signs are there but you can't see the one as you travel towards the police station because it's hidden in the trees! Shouldn't be a problem in a few few weeks or so though once the leaves have fallen
  24. Good advice I've been with them for nearly 25 years so I'll definitely be pushing for a deal of some kind.
