  1. Fitted loads of these boilers has have most the the engineers on here. They are fantastic but unfortunately a modification they made to the boiler ment a new divertor cartridge was fitted for a short period of time before they realised that there was an issue with them. They have reverted back to the original design now but sounds like you have one of the faulty upgraded cartridges which is a mm short and cause the boiler to stick in central heating. Give Ideal a call who I'm sure will be more happy to pop out and change the cartridge for you.
  2. As Micky ET has stated Building Regulation Part L covers this. Link below explains more. http://www.thenbs.com/buildingregs/associateddocuments/ShowContents.aspx?section=domestic&topic=b_0601_ASSDOC_DOMESTIC_00108&tl=no Also if you call Gas Safe on 0800 408 5500 they will arrange to come out and check the engineers work then force him to make any necessary changes.
  3. As long as the boiler is registered with the manufacture then the warranty stands. I would definitely get a thermostat fitted!! First point of call would be back to the installer advising him of what I have said and give him the opportunity to correct his error.
  4. Under building regulations and the boiler manufacturers benchmark book a room thermostat is mandatory. Its classed as a boiler interlock which means it turns the boiler off once the property reaches a set temperature. By not fitting one he has breached building regs. I would check he has also registered the boiler with Gas Safe as I doubt he has if he hasn't fitted a room thermostat. Hope this helps.
  5. Hi, I'd go for the Ideal Logic + 30 with a 7 Year warranty. Good value for money and a massive improvement on the ravenheat! Happy to provide a free quote if needed. Regards Lee
  6. Hi, ideal Logic + every time. Fantastic simple boiler with a 7 Year warranty as standard. Don't right your old boiler off yet tho. Might just need the expansion vessel repressuring or somethong? Give us a call if we can help further. Regards Lee
  7. Hi Raven27, I'm afraid that's an impossible question to answer. It could just be a seal that has perished or it could be a major component that has failed. Happy to arrange to come and take a look for you later this week. Cheers Lee
  8. Hi auto98uk, happy to take a look for you a give you our thoughts on what you need. Please give us a call. Cheers Lee
  9. Scott's spot on, had a few of these sticking now. Normally incresing the pressure cures it but then you need to bring the pressure back down by bleeding a radiator or drain off till itss back down to 1.5 bar max. Hope you get it sortted.
  10. Hi leigh1231, Not sure what your saying but if you'd like to give us a call after 2pm today we'd be happy to give you any advise we can over the phone. Cheers Lee
  11. The spillage device is only fitted to open flued boilers and yours is room sealed. Sounds more likely to be faulty air pressure switch which is really common or faulty fan.
  12. Thanks Maryjane!! It was a plesure working for you. Glad its all nice and warm for you now.
  13. Give me call tomorrow and I'll talk to you about the fault and see if we can find out what it is over the phone.
