  3. Hi yes I have been the same - keep bursting into tears just cannot believe I knocked him down and killed him. I keep hugging my own cats and just feel really guilty. I know it was an accident, but I know how it feels to lose your beloved pet. I just wish I could say how sorry I am to the owners and to let them know that it was very quick he was dead either on impact or died within those few minutes I went up the road, turned round and came back down again.
  4. There are indeed some really genuine, nice people around.
  5. Hi I have looked at the photo - no that is definitely not the cat. Hope you find him soon.
  6. Hello everyone I am new to this forum but thought I had to start somewhere to try and trace the owners of a beautiful cat that I knocked down on Rundle Road Nether Edge. It was yesterday evening around 8ish and I was driving up Rundle Road with my son in the car having just picked him up - we were half way up Rundle Road when a silver streak shot out from nowhere. I shrieked but didn't think we had hit him/her - I carried on up to the small roundabout and then turned back again thinking all the time that "no I couldn't have hit him". At first I didn't see anything and then I spotted him laid in the road I pulled over and went over to him. My son ended up coming over to us as well. There wasn't any blood or marks - he just looked like he was asleep! I picked him up and took him over to the grass verge. He/She was an absolutely stunning cat silver spotted either maybe a Bengal or Silver Tabby looked probably like an expensive pedigree. I own three cats and all my family absolutely love cats so I was mortified that I could have hit him and I couldn't stop crying. There was no collar on him or I would have rang the owners and taken him to them. I didn't know what to do and so I put my son back in the car then went back to the cat. A lady was pulling into her drive so I waited and then called her to see if she knew who the cat belonged to. She came to have a look, confirmed that he was indeed dead and said that she had seen him around now and again but didn't know who he belonged to. My son by now was getting upset and the lady said she would telephone the rspca to see what was the best thing to do and that I should go home. After one final stroke I left and drove home but last night I couldnt stop crying and thinking about the cat. Over the last few years we have had two cats go missing and never got them back and I searched high and low, did leaflets round all the roads around where we live and put ads in places and never did find out what ever happened to them. This cat was very beautiful and was obviously well cared for and I know the owners must be very worried about him. I just hope that they read the sheffield forum or contact the rspca or maybe the cat was microchipped. I would rather have know the fate of my beloved cats then never find out. Sorry to have gone on so much I was on the telephone last night to my mum crying and telling her the story. As a cat lover myself I just can't believe I hit one. Thank you.
