We're commenting on a situation that we don't know all the detail of - the harrassment might have been going on for ages. It's not very productive to comment on the situation and make generalisations from it if we don't know the full story.

So you assume that this case applies to all other cases of it happening then? If he was made a laughing stock, it is because of SEXIST attitudes which apply to both men and women and is something that we should all be fighting.

I'd say yes but only if we are talking specifically about misreading situations in terms of sexual attractiveness in the workplace

Today the European Commission has published its recommendations for promoting growth to all the member states. I've recently fitted a new extractor fan but i don't have a drill in order to secure it to the wall. Would it be ok to use double sided tape to secure it to the wall? And if so, would flooring tape be suitable? Thanks for your help!

It might be as simple as that...but we need to consider the wider implications. Someone might smoke because they like it but the wider implication is that it is damaging to their health and does not give a good impression to young people. It might not (but i'm sure it might have a contributing factor) but it definitely has an impact on the way that people perceive the victim i.e. she was asking for it (as said before)

This is obviously an important issue but its in Malaysia and i think we ought to focus on feminist issues here before we branch out. Anyway, feminists do fight on issues that are similar to this such as domestic violence and rape, equal pay and so on.

I don't have a problem with porn because it tends to be a bit more discreet than lap dancing clubs and lads mags. There is a time and place to enjoy sexual titilation etc...it shouldn't be so readily available and mainstream as it is with lads mags and things like playboy bunny outfits for kids etc.

Its a relationship though! When women dance in lap dancing clubs or have their naked breasts all over the front of men's magazines, there is no emotion involved, no suggestion of what its like to have a relationship with these girls...it puts the message out to other women and young people that females are just there to be ogled at.
