My 10 month old gets pus in his eye fairly often, I just clean it out and it goes away within a few days. If it seems sore and is upsetting your baby then yes, pop down to the GP. If you're in reception and kick up a small fuss about seeing someone then they usually squeeze you in!

I was at the gig doing first aid and I heard the fire alarm go for a few seconds when I was downstairs. Found out last night that some naughty person was smoking inside the Arena and that's what that was all about.
