  1. I think all care homes have different rules. I have a friend who's been double/triple-jabbed and has been told she can only see her 95 year old mother, who has Alzheimers, for 15 mins on Xmas Day. I do know other care homes are different.
  2. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get rid of the 'free eye check' salespeople near the check-outs before I go mad!!! I find myself going through the plant section just to avoid them! Surely everyone has been accosted by them by now?! I have never been one to be rude to chuggers and the like but am beginning to understand how it can creep up on you...
  3. Positive news at last. Yes i would be willing to have 4 vaccines a year. After all, what does this amount to-an hour?!
  4. I think if she hasn't managed to sort out how to reference after 14 years there isn't much hope for her!
  5. I know about the Sainsbury connection but can you still order there and pick up straightaway like you could at Argos or is it pre-ordering online?
  6. So now just about the only shop to speak of on Angel Street has disappeared. Did i miss an announcement? (Also the Kilner Way one). Can't believe the Co-Op nearby is still trading-suppose that will be the next to bite the dust.
  7. We always used to call our evening meal 'tea'. After all, we had 'school dinners' in the middle of the day! However this all went to pot when packed lunches started at schools....
  8. So if you don't want to get jabbed you are 'exercising your rights' but what about my 'rights' to expect not to get infected by one of these individuals?
  9. How about a simple solution to this dilemma of whether or not to have the vaccine. If you refuse it and later catch Covid then you agree to pay for all your treatment and that of any others who you may have infected.
  10. Thank you. I have finally managed to get some -from B&Q!
  11. As per title, does anyone know of anywhere that stocks this? I realise it's a bit late to do a hanging basket but want to try before it's too late and i think this is the best lining. Thank you.
  12. No-because sadly, bad news sells.
  13. If people refuse to wear masks and/or be vaccinated let them pay the full cost of any treatment they need if hospitalised. However, this doesn't get over the problem of passing it onto others. To my mind, if you wear a mask you're not harming anyone, least of all yourself- but if you don't wear one there is a chance you could harm someone. It doesn't really matter if you think they might be useless- after all it's no big deal. And of course it is the law.
  14. No idea but one is too many as far as i'm concerned.
  15. According to the BBC website over 30 murderers killed again after release from prison in between the years 2000-2010.
  16. It would achieve the protection of society from future crime.
  17. Unfortunately there are also many 'reformed' criminals who have been released and then gone on to kill again... Better to be kept in prison where at least they can't kill again.
  18. Sure there is one above High Bradfield on a Sunday morning - we've heard it twice recently.
  19. Similar to Ugg boots in my opinion-over-priced, ugly and unflattering-but fashion dictates that they are trendy so must be worn!
  20. I think the 15mins wait is only after Pfizer vaccine as it's a new type of vaccine. I had Oxford jab and no wait.
  21. I didn't mean to suggest in any way that you were jumping the queue but i do know of people who have found this loophole and are abusing the system. I hope you get your appointment soon.
  22. You are supposed to wait for a letter but some people who think they are special enough to jump the queue book theirs on the website which doesn't check whereabouts you are on the waiting list.
  23. Ridiculous queuing here this morning. Cars parked all over-on corners, double yellow lines etc. Impossible to tell which cars were trying to get up to Morrisons, which were queuing for McDonalds and which for B&Q. Do people really need these take-aways so desperately?!
