  1. when my partner worked at that kind of wage and i stayed home with the kids we got child tax credits and working tax credits cant remember the amounts and some council tax benefit no help with morgage payments though.
  2. mothercare, new look, asda, h&m and matalan all do brilliant maternity clothes. i think next do some aswell now.
  3. the new one at darnall is taking nhs patients.
  4. there used to be a site for them there a few years ago but i think they moved away. maybe they have moved back?
  5. well I'm not panicking, my son is still allowed to go out with his friends but there are new rules just for now until more information comes to light, such as he must have a fully charged mobile phone on him and if he moves from the area he told me he was going to be in then he has to phone and let me know and also he is not to be on his own while out. hes 11 (just). I'm also surprised the police haven't said anything yet either now i think about it.
  6. its cos we live in a blame culture I'm afraid so schools have little choice but to send these letters out maybe? what if in the time it took to verify the nature of the threat another child was harmed? everyone would then say the school should have told us? also when i was growing up things that happened outside of school was none of the schools business (at least that's what they used to say) but that seems to have changed now. maybe that's why letters were never sent home when we were at school?
  7. surely the school have done the right thing by making parents aware of a possible danger to their children?
  8. i suggest contacting sheffield college and asking them how you would go about getting enrolled on a plumbing or electricians course and go from there, they will probably have you in for a chat about it so you can discuss your options.
  9. i never said that. i stated what i had been told and nothing more.
  10. you are the only person who will know what you want to do. what kind of things do you like to do? the world is your oyster when it comes to things like this and no one but you will know what you will feel happy doing. you need to have a think about where you would like your life to go and what you want to do with it and go from there. good luck with it all.
  11. from what ive gathererd (both my kids go to this school and ive had this letter) from other parents and the school is that there has been 2 incidents one was a child being threatend by a man with a knife, i know this child. And another incident (not sure they are linked yet) of a young teenage girl walking home and a man tried to drag her into his car but she hit him in the face and she managed to escape and run home, i also know this girl and her parents.
  12. you should get a quote for your new car before buying it if your worried about the cost of the insurance. you can ask your current insurer about changing your car they may let you continue without paying extra or you may have to pay a bit more. if you choose to cancel your insurance with them though there may be a charge for doing so. when your coming up for renewal they will send you a renewal quote its then up to you to shop around for a better deal/price. best thing to do is phone them with your new car details and ask them about any costs you will have if you swap your car and go from there.
  13. the end price will all depend on what kind of cake you want here are some points to think of when getting prices, what type of base cake i.e plain or flavoured sponge, chocolate or fruit? what type of icing i.e frosting, butter cream or royal icing. decorations i.e flowers (sugar paste, real or silk), spots, ribbons, jewels, stripes, fruit, then how many and where on the cake and in what colors? also what kind of topper. stacked or seperated tiers or cupcakes and how many tiers. shape of the cakes? and regarding time to make the cake depends on the cake itself some cakes hardly take any time to do while others can take weeks or even months. i advice brides to be to have a look in bridal mags and on the internet at designs they like and then come and see me and we can go from there.
  14. me and my sister in law bought bought fiat puntos from them they even put them through an mot and they passed and then both of them broke down with in 6 months of us buying them (the head gaskets went on both). im not saying its all bad there or it was their fault it may have been we were both just unlucky but i wont buy another from them though and neither will my sister in law.
  15. only place i can think would be good is mushroom lane or hallamshire car park.
  16. asda do 500g packs for about £2.00 i think they are, i get mine from there when i need it.
  17. you should go into the college itself and ask to speak to one of the catering tutors or head of the department and ask them if its possible.
  18. i agree baby milk is stupidly priced now, but then again everything seems to have increased in price. as to the comments on formula feeding vs breast i didnt breast feed my son 11 years ago but i did try with my daughter i loved it at first and we bonded very well during the first 4/6 weeks but then she got ill with a water infection and stopped sucking as much so my body stopped producing as much milk and it wasnt creamy rich enough either so she lost lots of weight due to it. She was admitted to hospital for treatment and i continued to try my best to produce more milk i was using a pump for ages to try and help it along as i didnt want to quit as i felt it was the best for her but it didnt work and i had to eventually admit defeat for the good of my child, after a few days she still hadnt gained any weight so i agreed to formula feeding. I felt like a total failure at the time but once i saw her getting better and gaining weight i knew id done the right thing. i have nothing against people who want to use forumla but i would like more to try breast feeding. id also like people to not be judged when making the decision.
  19. when my dad needed care we wanted him to be cared for at home, so we went and spoke to social services who put him/us a care package together which included funding for carers as we only had a certain amount of money to spend on carers hours/wages we had to fill in the missing time ourselves. we got carers either at night 7pm till 7am or in the day 7am till 7pm and it was only one of them so one of us had to be there also. im not sure how much care your gran needs but my dad needed everything, he couldnt feed himself, wash, walk or move and he was hardly able to speak. he needed 2 people with him 24 hours a day. good luck with it and i hope you get it sorted soon.
  20. ive found some black cabs (not all) go the long way round and go well under the speed limit and cost a fair bit more than private firms so i no longer use black cabs due the above reasons. i used to get black cabs every weekend after a night out in town, when i had done a lot of shopping at meadowhall coming home from the train station with suitcases etc etc but now i just call private ones as i can save up to a fiver on a journey.
  21. mine is about the same we pay it weekly, also it being an ex council house has no bearing on the rates i should imagine.
  22. i lost my job and have to go to doctors in about an hour to have a load of blood tests doen as im not well and they dont know why im feeling ill all the time. and thats just the start to the day so cant wait to see what lunch time and the afternoon brings for me :(
  23. the op did not say she was trying to put an umbrella up in the door way she said she was getting it out of her bag as she was leaving presumably so she had it ready to put up when she got outside. also the op didn't say she was asked to move at any point, she also states she left sober and early.
