1950s themed musician required to play two 30 minute sets at a diamond wedding anniversary on 10th December 2015 at Tapton Hall, Sheffield. Can be either an instrumentalist/singer performing full covers or a non-singer performing instrumental arrangements to provide 1950s ambience while people eat and chat.

Hi Drummer54as! I'm a musician looking for jazz musicians to start a small ensemble playing anything ranging from swing standards to the (comparatively) modern Miles Davis' 80s era. I'm a guitarist primarily but I'm looking to get on the flute and sax. I do know other musicians who have shown an interest in jamming (guitarist and bass player) so if you're interested I'll give them a ring and see if they're on board. Also just to add, since you mentioned metal in your follow up post, I'm a HUGE fan of metal too so between that and jazz, we probably share a lot of influences.

Would you be open to the idea of performing music in the vein of Miles Davis' 80s era? 28 year old musician here dying to play some improvised modern jazz. If you aren't familiar with Davis' work just search for the track "Tutu" on YouTube. I know a couple of musicians who may be interested.

Thanks for the replies! Lockjaw, forgive me but I'm not quite sure what a pub session is. I'm imagining it's a few people who play instruments getting together to perform a few tunes for other drinkers. Is that right? Hi all! Does anybody want a flute player? Whether you actively gig or just jam I don't really mind. I'm open to any genres, I just want to get out there and play. Although saying that, I must add I'm not overly into folk music (a bit of a shame really as flute fits in nicely in folk).

I can't say I've even heard of one let alone used one! :-) Do you mean a website that hosts contests in which people produce compositions within a given criteria then put them forward to compete with other people's efforts?
