  1. Hi - I left Colley School in 1955. I do remember Mr Ibbotson who also took the choir. A great way to get out of lessons! I lived on Holgate Crescent till I married in 1962. I do remember a few names from my class, Myra Luscombe, Kenneth Smith, Douglas Ball, Valerie Moorhouse.
  2. I used to live just off Birley Street many years ago - actually I was born there in 1940 and left 1945/6. Our home was on Cooper Terrace which I think was a terrace off Birley Street. Cant quite remember, but I think Birley Street ran parralel to Woodside Lane which I think you will find on an old map of sheffield. Hope this helps.
  3. Does anyone remember Cooper Terrace which I am sure was off Woodside Lane. I lived there from birth till I was about 5 or 6 when we moved to a new house on Parson Cross. I have looked at a few old maps but Cooper Terrace is never mentioned, but I definitely went to Woodside School. Hope maybe someone can help - thanks
  4. I was at Colley Road School till 1955 (a very long time ago!) but having just read about a Mr Birch I am sure that he was the headteacher when I was there. Also, I think Mr. Ibbotson was the choir teacher (it was good to be in the choir - quite a lot of lessons missed because of choir practice). Is there anyone else who was at Colley School before 1955?
  5. I lived on Holgate Crescent from around 1946 to 1962 when I got married. I used to go to Colley Secondary School till 1955.
