i have no problem except the worry of traffic ,thats why we have offered sheffield fc a huge area at our huge event in august ,that way kids can engage with the players and learn skills and parents ect will be able to ask questions ect on a nice friendly festival day,not a heated debate as in meetings,it will be passed and will go ahead provided the monies are in place,its just once built its hard to change traffic plans . and i look forward to meeting them at the showground next week to sort out there area .

it was a concern of a councillor not being nasty but what happens if one of them gets into financial trouble? the other concerns were saturdays with the st james shopping centre,a main route for many to bakewell ect, but if they sort out the traffic it will be fine, i am meeting many from sheffield fc on monday so if i get chance i will ask there opinions.

its just the traffic say sat at 2pm the st james retail park is busy ,sufc are at home so loads going through meadowhead area ,any back ups ,then of course you have the big visitor centre where people will visit from around the world there ,plus others passing through the area to derbyshire ect,it will work and go ahead its just the traffic that needs sorting ,we dont even have the tram like other sites have.

i agree ,but it takes 9 months to plan,plus bid for money,plus sending return forms back,accounts its non-stop ,i always say thats the main one ive missed ,i have been to so many since 2000 when i first got involved with the heeley festival of which i was chair when it was run by the farm and heeley trust before they split,we started with 4 mini rides and a icecream person and he even left after 30 mins in 2008,but year 2 in 2009 was the turning point when we got a stage and a few singers and tubys funfair the rest is history,most famous one was the lord mayor trying to sue us because the chair broke that made national sunday paper headlines and as we won it propelled us further and bigger, but our new 20 acre site with parking and a big sponsor paying the bills is i think our best ever deal that took me 18 months to secure , we are nearly ready to tell all,but thanks for your comment ,but theres 2 main things that stop events thats money and getting peoples time ,let us know when stanningtons on i must visit thanks.

it will be intresting what is said about the parking traffic as thats my only worry as its football,cricket,rugby and more ,then what if they do music?,what if they over lap seasons? so also theres a club and is it basket ball ect, they could use the bowshaw showground for parking but thats very wet in winter, also rugby clubs often go bankcrupt then what,but as i say they are at our festival to answer questions and engage with the children at football ,but thats in august.

we are having sheffield fc to show you everything at the lowedges s8 festival sun aug 11th at the bowshaw show ground 12noon-5pm i like the idea,if the entrance is sorted great.

theres some gems on there ones like i booked a on suite but it was across the landing ,so its next to the room and yours read them theres some gems your right irene

but he deserves that as well,plus in general is our most famous walker ,hes loved by football fans every where inc scotland ,surely he is worth a sir title ,he puts everyone before himself .every mayor who we have invited to our festival to open it offically has said let john speak first hes the most important person here ,i think that says a lot . but we will do the 2nd best ,but come on hes well worth the top option.

hes said it would have to mention his charity somehow in the sir bit if he was nominated ,why is his name not on the footpath outside the town hall ,he does a incredible job and i dont think people really realise what a great job he does,its okay saying he does not need mentioning ,but i think he does a great job.

I THINK it should be sir john birkhill ,hes said he would accept ,but the wording would need a slight change ,but why is he not a sir by now? is it cos hes from sheffield? i think its time this was done,hes a top man walks 10-20 mile for fun,hes raised a million plus lots more,he puts smiles on faces,visits hospitals, he goes to events in fact hes opened our at lowedges for years,more popular than any mayor or MP . we are doing our best to suggest it in 2022 we did a fun one making him a sir in our main arena with a balloon sword,this year we are going one further to what we believe to be the nearest thing, by making him a sir via barney baloney and the magic circle and using a masonic lodge sword ,so why dont we ask everyone to ask for the london one.hes our champion what do others think ?

its all a mess and with a ground for 5,000 people with cricket,football,rugby and more and only parking for 500 cars theres more problems as that affects the lowedges junction ,plus the lights before that,but i have nothing against the ground being built but i hope they get it right, i am sure they will do bands as well and some seasons overlap,plus circus ect. plus the added problems of traffic via woodseats as well.

many talk about him selling some even said sell to our sponsor that could not even pay his fees,it will take a person with deep pockets especially as he own the ground as well

pity we lost him as i think in the next few years he will come good

well i have never worried about having to use that stand when needed ,only thought i had was the opponents supporters above throwing objects

always been rough in that area as it includes london road ect, but thats not sufcs fault ,society today and no respect does not help either

if theres a few i would grab a cab outside the station its rough in that area
