  1. with regards to what there is to do for 3 days in cleethorpes-basically nothing that cant be done anywhere else, most of the pubs are the same old run down sort which attract to wrong sort of locals,Cleethorpes is actually one of the rougher parts of Grimsby with not a lot going for it. Its got a beach of which the majority is inaccesible when the tides out and theres a theme park which is expensive when its not closed. 1 campsite which is really expensive and overpriced. basically your better off going somewhere else for 3 days(even Mablethorpe) and visiting Cleethorpes for the day, much better value for money:thumbsup:
  2. I'm with you on that,I'm currently enjoying a good run, my mortgage is really low and I also run my own business which is not a necessity to my customers. I dont spend my income on crap which I dont need,I'm certainly not buying my xmas presents in April and I dont do new clothes-dining out weekly and over the top spending. There is still money to be earned out there if you can be bothered to look. I know plenty of school leavers who are currently out of work but refuse to take jobs at mcdonald's-KFc etc, they will gladly pay to eat there though !!!!!
  3. I realy dont think its any of her buisines what I'm doing in my own home, besides that,at 5pm there are kids playing in the street and the gardens making noise and also the house is on a main road with heavy traffic,I personnally dont think drilling 3 holes in a wall at 5pm for less than 5 mins needs me to knock on her door and explain, this is the first time I have drilled at the house since purchasing it and in the coming weeks there will be plenty more noise coming from work on the hous ,between 9 am and 5 pm, I dont think I need to explain this and dont think I need to work around her husbands work shifts and sleep patterns. The majority of people who have responded to this post also agree. At the end of the day she has made a mountain out of a molehill, probably to get attention which is not coming from her other half as he seems to spend 12 hours a day in bed.
  4. I dont want to talk to her as I cant get away once she starts and its getting to the point where I'm having to run in and out of the house before she see's me. I think the husband does'nt really have to go to bed at that time, but its an excuse to get out of the way:D I can hear her going up and down the stairs to the toilet and pretty sure if I waited around to listen on one of her visits, she would be louder than the drilling:hihi:
  5. Is drilling 3 holes in a bathroom wall at 5pm in the afternoon considered anti social ???. yesterday I had a nosy neighbour complaining and shouting she was going to the council because I was fitting a bathroom shower screen at 5pm in the afternoon while her husband was in bed,he had to get up for work at 4.30 am so needed 12 hours sleep !!. this is not a joke,it actually happened. apparantly she is also fed up of the noise Iv'e been making while plastering the internal of my house between 9am and 3.30 pm. I just bought the property but last month she was complaining about the bad state that previous owners had kept the house. I cant win !!!
  6. I always remember struggling to get a mortgage 10 years ago,my dad always said that the young in this country stood no chance when wanting to get on the property ladder. 10 years ago my mortgage repayments were around £200 pm,then rose to around £260 pm,they are now currently are around £160,quite a difference!!!. This has happened because I chose the right mortgage at the right time, and sooner than later I will own that home outright. Maybe I was lucky, I knew nothing about mortgages but was happy to have and be able to afford my own home. I the meantime I have managed to buy outright 3 other properties but because the original house is so low to repay,I still have a mortgage on it and until the rate rises I may as well keep paying it off with minimal interest, the banks are there to make a living just like everyone else. Call me lucky, hardworking, sensible or whatever you want( no dought some one will say I'm greedy and should give my hard earned houses to some lazy sod on benefits:o) but when I took out the mortgage it was at a price I could afford and I was over the moon that I had my own home. I also knew it was better than renting and I had to repay the loan:thumbsup:
  7. I need a fridge, cooker,carpets,washer/dryer etc etc, but I work and pay my own way. do you reckon I could sponge all these things for free out of hardworking peoples taxes. I could do with a yacht and a new merc as well if you know any going for free, they have to be brand new though:huh:
  8. and then realising that if there's more than one of you in a group ,it's cheaper and quicker to get a taxi.
  9. I run my own cleaning company of sorts, its a 1 man buisiness but there's no way I could work for 3 hours for £25:loopy:. What about transport costs, cleaning equipment and products etc etc. I also want money put aside for holiday pay-sick pay etc etc and then there's all the people who'll pay fortnightly or monthly etc etc,a job I do for the council and a firm in the town centre sometimes take 6 months to pay,my everyday bills have to be covered to stay afloat.
  10. what rubbish !!! I pay all my taxes and insurance on time and I think the tax office would be a bit overwhelmed if they received every little £3 receipt from every houshold and small buisiness. I cant justify charging £3 to clean someones windows, travelling expenses cost more than that these days and I only do it to earn a good living, would you travel to someones house, climb up a ladder several times and do a good job for £3,then either travel back to get payed or wait 2-3 months for the £3 ? dont think so ! If your paying less than a £5 for a small house then you've got to ask what kind of bloke is turning up for it,Its obvious they are not registered-insured or paying taxes and may even be claiming benefits at the same time.
  11. it depends on the size of the house-how many windows-height-area etc etc etc. my minimal fee for new customers is £5 for a normal sized terrace/semi ,which when you take into consideration (which most people dont)travelling expenses, equipment cost, tax and insurance, is not bad for a decent reliable bloke to turn up on regular basis throughout the year.
  12. £150 for 2 people inc transport and tools, like going back 15 years
